Research Software Engineer

Research Software Engineer for a multinational technology corporation with a great presence within the telecommunications industry. You would be joining a really interesting and passionate team who are constantly looking for cutting edge technologies and turning it into commercial products.

This truly is a unique opportunity. The organisation partner with leading UK Universities and in this role, you will undertake original research as well as engineering and knowledge transfer. The overarching purpose of the role is essentially transforming academic research into commercial applications.

You will have skills or interests in anything from transactional or analytical database (systems or graphs), query optimisations, execution and storage engines looking at vectorising analytical tools, and/or even hardware-software co-design. They are ideally looking for someone that is proficient in one or more system-level programming languages (C/C++, Rust, Java, Go, etc.).

Their offices are in Edinburgh, and they have adopted a hybrid model with three days a week in the office at the moment (they will be moving to fully in the office at some point). Their offices are amazing, with a terrace with a fantastic view of the Edinburgh Castle. The team love to come in and use Whiteboard where they throw out ideas and look for the best and most innovative approaches while fully being immersed with their products.

The salary on offer is £55,000-100,000 (with some flexibility for the right person).They offer sponsorship and support and contribute to relocations. There are good benefits on top including; strong holidays, pension, private healthcare, annual budget for professional development, sports club.
