User Interface (UI) Developer
Glasgow
As a User Interface (UI) Developer this is a great opportunity, where you will be part of four new Agile Full-Stack Feature teams. Working on an exciting new digital investing product within Barclays Wealth. You will leverage some existing digital app capability and will be mostly building brand new customer-facing digital features, with the user interface fully designed, built and owned in-house.

What will you be doing?
• You will be a key member within one of the agile feature teams, leading the UI development for that team
• Taking business and functional requirements and translating them into functional user interface designs
• Producing and maintaining readable, well-documented code, along with accompanying automated test coverage
• Ensuring unit and integration testing of code, and providing support to testing cycles ensuring that defects are resolved
• Contributing towards best practice across all the feature teams at all times
What we’re looking for:
• Have extensive hands-on experience designing and building Single Page Applications, using HTML5, CSS, JavaScript and Type Script
• Knowledge and experience with Bootstrap, Materialize or Responsive Web Design
• Proven ability for designing and developing enterprise solutions using different tools and techniques, along with displaying exceptional communication and collaboration skills
• Have been educated to degree level or above, preferably in Computer Science or Software Engineering
Skills that will help you in the role:
• Have experience of consuming REST APIs
• Sound Java programming experience, while not essential, would be an advantage
• Knowledge and experience in the Wealth Management, Financial Planning and Digital Investing domain

The company is seeking a Data Architecture Lead who will be responsible for designing and implementing the data architecture that underpins SST’s Data and Digital strategy. The candidate will work closely with product, operations, and technology partners to develop the next generation data platform to support new products and services. The candidate will also significantly contribute to solutions and design of new builds for the Data and Digital offering. The role will cover solutions across all Securities Services products. The candidate will be on the cutting edge of new digital innovations and will help to evolve and transform the Securities Services business. The global nature of the role will require excellent navigation and communication skills across business and technology teams.
The responsibilties
- Provide thought-leadership in evolving the data landscape and how it applies to the Securities Services business.
- Lead a small and highly accomplished technology team of architects encompassing data modelling, data quality and data management.
- Lead the development of standards, architectural governance, design patterns and IT practices. This will include standards for data artefacts – data dictionaries, input file formats, output file formats and the use of data modelling, lineage reporting and metadata related tools.

- Develop and maintain the IT asset register and the data lineage across the applications for SST.
