VP Front Office Java Developer/Tech Lead
Japanese investment banking firm seeks a Java Developer for a permanent position paying between £115,000 and £130,000, within their Global Markets IT department based in London.
An exciting opportunity has come up for a Senior Java Developer/Technical Lead to join the Global Markets IT department. The team works in partnership with Front Office stakeholders to build and implement the strategic platform for the Algorithmic Indices business. This is a hands-on development role that will allow the successful candidate the autonomy to deliver strategic data solutions within this key area of the firm.
The role is a front to back role involving collaboration with the Front office (Trading, Structuring and R&D groups) as well as Quants and Operations teams to implement solutions. The role demands well rounded technical skills and strong communication and organisational skills.
The successful candidate would be leading a team across multiple regions.
Skills, experience, qualifications and knowledge required
- Proven track record in Java, Spring, Spring Boot, REST
- Strong working knowledge of SQL (ideally MSSQL or similar RDBMS)
- Background working with Agile methodologies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proven flair for system design and architecture
- Excellent organisational and communications skills both written and verbal.
- Commercially driven and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Desirable technical skills:
- Understanding or working knowledge of Python, React, would be an advantage.
- Product delivery background gained in a front-office environment
- Understanding of Algorithmic indices and/or cross-asset derivatives / structured products

The company is seeking a Data Architecture Lead who will be responsible for designing and implementing the data architecture that underpins SST’s Data and Digital strategy. The candidate will work closely with product, operations, and technology partners to develop the next generation data platform to support new products and services.
