Respected and well-known Glasgow organisation requires a Senior 3rd Line Support Engineer (Windows / SQL Server) to design and lead a number of infrastructure improvements across the estate (before moving into a support phase).

With an overall responsibility for software, hardware and networks this position will suit a talented senior support engineer looking to make their first steps into design of systems. The role will see your role split across the following variety of key tasks:-

  • Helping with the future strategy for the infrastructure team including Windows, AD, VmWare / Hypervisors, RDBMS (either SQL Server or Oracle) and some Linux.
  • Providing the senior technical hands-on support and escalation point for the team.
  • Help develop and improve the processes and policies across the team.
  • Work closely with the Head of IT on the architecture and strategy for the team moving forward.

To succeed in this varied and interesting position you will require experience in most of the following:-

  1. Windows server platforms (some Linux would be a plus)
  2. High availability server host architecture / clusters - ideally VMware or MS Hypervisors
  3. Basic skill level in the administration of RDBMS systems (either SQL Server or Oracle)
  4. Active Directory
  5. Backup management strategy / tools (e.g. Veritas)

    Leading Investment Bank have an exciting opportunity for an experienced lawyer to join the team on a temporary basis to support the Legal input required for IBOR transition. Teh Bank are currently preparing for the transition of IBOR benchmarks to alternative reference rates and there is increasing regulatory focus on this on a global scale. The EMEA region has established an IBORs transition programme as part of a global IBORs transition programme. The Legal department is integral to the programme. We are looking for a qualified lawyer with strong financial services and transaction background to support this Legal work-stream in EMEA.

    In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for Legal input into the EMEA IBOR Programme across the Bank and Securities business under a dual-hat arrangement. The role will include the following key areas of responsibility:

    • Advise on the review and remediation of contracts referencing LIBOR.
    • Advise on new RFRs and transactions adopting these rates
    • Advise on legal and regulatory issues arising as a result of LIBOR transition.

  • Head of Internal Audit

    Overview:
    The Head of Internal Audit will be responsible for managing the internal audit function in accordance with the various regulations such as Solvency II, JSOX. The jobholder will be based at our clients head office in Luxembourg and will travel to its branches across Europe. The position reports to the CEO, but also retains functional reporting relation to the Head of International Audit and the Audit Committee reporting to its Board of Directors.


    Key Responsibilities:

    • To plan, manage and execute value added internal audits across all European locations, to provide assurance on the internal controls’ environment, governance and risk management framework.
    • Performing and leading annual JSOX / internal controls testing, walkthroughs and flowcharts for all European locations to comply with company regulations.
    • Liaising with the business to obtain progress updates on control and audit findings and then performing remediation testing.
    • Performing routine testing across all departments and areas including but not limited to underwriting, claims, reinsurance, finance, human resources, risk management, Solvency II, governance, compliance, actuarial and IT.
    • Documenting and recording all internal audit and JSOX testing on TeamMate audit software.
    • Ensuring all review points raised by Internal Audit management are accurately cleared and on a timely basis.
    • Produce accurate and complete working papers that support the audit findings and producing the final internal audit report that is presented to the client.
    • Liaising with the Luxembourg regulator if necessary as holder of a key regulatory function.
    • Keeping up to date with regulatory, auditing and legal changes.
    • Liaising with staff and management across the insurance group.
    • Work with the Head of International Internal Audit and the audit team on various administration, reporting and departmental tasks.
    • Ad hoc internal audit projects, testing and tasks.


    Skills and Experience Specification:

    • At least 7 years’ experience in audit functions, preferably in insurance and/or financial services.
    • Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) holder, studying towards CIA or equivalent would be considered an asset. Committed to on-going professional development.
    • University degree in Accounting, Audit, Finance or other related field
    • Excellent English written & oral communication skills with an emphasis on tact, diplomacy and confidentiality.
    • French, German and / or Spanish language skills would be highly advantageous.
    • Good organisational skills & proven ability to multi-task.
    • High standard of attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Willingness and ability to travel, most specifically around European branch offices (around 30-40% of the role).
    • Experience working with audit management system software, particularly TeamMate is preferred.
    • Intermediate proficiency and experience using Microsoft Office package (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio).
    • Ability to work remotely for a small and very busy internal audit team.

Senior Application Support Analyst - (UNIX, Scripting, ITIL)

Glasgow based Financial Services giant is continuing to expand their presence in Glasgow which includes growing a whole new application support team. This role would see you supporting business critical application withing a specific arm of the company.

The environment is predominantly UNIX(RHEL) although there is also some Windows boxes so any experience on Microsoft tech would be beneficial. This is 2nd line support so scripting skills are also essential. Either Perl, Shell or SQL would be suitable. Back end its SQL server and the application is written in Java so any experience supporting similar applications would be beneficial. ITIL is widely used within the team so you’d need to have an understanding in incident management as a minimum.

To be successful in this role, you’ll previously supported applications in a similar environment, ideally at enterprise level. Any experience in Autosys for Batch scheduling or ServiceNow would also be beneficial as would Financial services experience although this isn’t essential as full training will be given. If you have the relevant technical experience and attitude you’ll be able to pick up the other aspects of the role quickly.
