I am currently looking for a ALGO Technical Specialist- VP Level- (Futures/ FIX) to join a top investment bank based in London. The role will be a permanent position working on a new project within the organisation.


The role of the Technical Specialist is to provide technical and functional leadership in Futures Execution and e-Trading, running development projects across internal and external partners as well as working with the existing execution development team to deliver the next generation of functional and infrastructural change.


Responsibilities

Define, manage and deliver a multi-year programme of functional and infrastructural improvements (including algorithmic trading capabilities, TCA/data analytics, low latency DMA)

Collaborate with senior business and technology leaders

Provide thought leadership in specific areas such as algorithmic trading, FIX connectivity and low latency infrastructure

Establish strategic partnerships with specialist vendors to further the execution of the build out

Experience required

Futures front office (trading, risk management, order lifecycle management)
FIX protocol
Algorithmic trading particularly benchmark algos
Familiarity with modern trading systems such as Fidessa or TT
SDLC process and tooling (Jira, agile methodology)

Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for the operation, monitoring and integrity of the technology platform,

Participate in design, architecture, development, deployment and support for large scale projects.

Proactively seeking to improve process by automating and removing repeated effort.

Responsible for managing development platforms - continuous build, test and integration processes.

Troubleshooting business issues, identifying root cause, solving problems to provide solutions to diverse investment teams and the product aligned trading desks.

Ownership and participation in the Incident and problem management processes, being accountable for resolution, root cause analysis and technology and business reporting and communication.

Skills Required

Experienced Application Support/ DevOps Engineer.

Experience within financial services. Preferably with a focus in asset management.

Experience working with Decision Support, Order and Trade execution systems, ideally in a front office environment.

Proficiency in application development using Core Java and database development.

Experience with Linux or windows environment and scripting knowledge.Familiarity with Platform Engineering – Tomcat, Siteminder, Kerberos, and Apache.

Strong familiarity with Jenkins, Git/Bit Bucket and automated deployment.

Good knowledge of SQL and database technologies.
