We are currently searching for a Android Developer to join a rapidly growing FinTech in Vauxhall, their mobile application already has 50,000 active users.
We are now looking for an experienced Senior Android Engineer who is passionate about technology and eager to solve complex problems. You will be expected you to have a clear understanding of design patterns, architecture types and apply SOLID principles as part of your daily work.
You will be playing a fundamental role in our continued migration into MVVM and Hilt, as well as being part of our exciting journey into abstracting and modularising the project to be able to provide white-labelling solutions with ease.
As the company grows, the scalability of the app and architectural improvements required to build a robust application are now a key focus of the team. In the Android team we believe on empowering our customers through technology, that's why we have weekly sessions to discuss the latest trends and how we can apply them to create a better experience, some examples of this are the added support for Google Pay, Google Assistant, Dark Theme and Android Widgets.
Technical Requirements:
- RxJava or Coroutines and Dagger or Hilt
- Kotlin, the Android SDK, Android Studio and best engineering practices
- Working in agile environment using Scrum
- Working within a cross functional mobile team (Android/iOS)
- Writing tests- (unit test, integration test, UI test etc.)
- Experience with Java/Android design patterns (MVP, MVVM)
- Experience with best practices in mobile design (human interface guidelines, threading, bandwidth considerations etc.)
- Experience working with CI/CD
- Experience with Git or other similar distributed SCM systems
- Good understanding of REST and messaging platforms
- Strong communicator and collaborator
- Proactive problem solver

Senior Platform Services Analyst – London – Hybrid
A Global Financial Services provider working at the heart of the world’s financial, energy and commodities markets covering FX, Rates, Credit, Equities and Energy & Commodities are looking for a Senior Platform Services Analyst to join their team in London.
Clients include banks, insurance companies, pension and hedge funds, asset managers, energy producers and refiners, as well as risk and compliance managers and charities.
Responsibilities:
- Working within a shift rota to provide support coverage from 7am – 6pm
- Contribute towards ‘follow the sun’ support model, working closely with global teams in APAC and US to ensure pre-market health checks are performed for each region
- Perform regional start of day health checks to ensure all members are connected to the platform
- Utilising proprietary tools, provide daily application support and troubleshooting for platform members and internal users, escalating to Development teams appropriately
- Daily interaction with all internal stakeholders with regards to support issues
- Efficiently create and track issues within an incident-management system to help identify trends and patterns
- Create and monitor internal reports and usage queries
- Assist with product testing and project work
Skills:
- At least 3 years hands-on support experience within a financial institution (buy-side, sell-side, venue/platform provider)
- Proven experience of MSSQL, Oracle and Sybase database environments, including complex query-writing
- Solid application support experience within a Unix / Linux environment
- Good working knowledge of the FIX protocol
- Proven experience of supporting Windows Server environments
- Experience in troubleshooting network problems: i.e. firewall and routing problems
- Good understanding of international Equity market mechanics and flows
Desirable:
- Exposure to supporting message-based architecture
- Working knowledge of at least one buy-side or sell-side Order Management System
