Application Security Engineer

£70000 - £75000 per annum benefits


Application Security Engineer- CISSP, CISM, CISA, Web Application Firewalls, Linux, Security Tooling, Penetration Testing, Nessus- Permanent- Sheffield


A client based in the Sheffield area are on the lookout for an Application Security Engineer to join the business as they look to carry out a number of projects in the cyber security domain, with an initial focus in the implementation of dynamic tooling across the application security estate. This is a great role if you are already working as an Application Security Engineer and are looking for broader technical and stakeholder facing challenges in a role, or if you have experience in positions in the information security, cyber security and/or network security spaces which have had a focus on deploying Web Application Firewalls and a range of security tools, and exposure to penetration testing.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

  • Educated to Bachelor’s Degree level or possessing equivalent professional qualifications in a relevant discipline such as Information Security, Cyber Security, Networking, Computer Science, Information Technology
  • Knowledge of a range of cyber security domains such as DLP, encryption, cryptography, network and infrastructure security, penetration testing and/or vulnerability management/threat detection
  • Hands on experience with web security infrastructure tools such as Web Application Firewalls including FortiWeb, Blue Coat, Barracuda, SonicWall
  • Strong knowledge of SIEM and vulnerability management tools such as Qualys, Nessus, QRadar or similar
  • Exposure to OWASP technologies such as Metasploit, Nexpose, or similar, is highly preferred
  • Previous work with tools such as F5, Fortinet, NetScaler, Veracode, Jira, Confluence, or similar
  • Hands on skills with Linux, Unix and Windows platforms and applications
  • Any experience of implementing static infrastructure and dynamic tooling is welcomed
  • Sector specific certifications such as CISSP, CISA, CISM are highly preferred

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Champion best practice in information security engineering across a number of infrastructure, network security and other requirements in the technical estate
  • Act as an SME for Application Security related issues
  • Contribute to the global improvement of IT security strategy
  • Assess for any vulnerabilities in the application security estate, and make recommendations for how the security strategy could be improved moving forwards
  • Make recommendations for which security tools and controls would improve the quality and sophistication of application infrastructure
  • Deploy web security technologies which are focused on protecting the enterprise application estate, such as Web Application Firewalls
  • Roll out new security methodology on an enterprise scale, implementing any new security governance framework protocols when required
  • Take a hands on role implementing new infrastructure architecture to support security standards

    Regulatory Reporting Accountant

    Our client, a commercial banking organization with a global presence, is seeking a strong Regulatory Reporting professional to join their London branch. The role will take responsibility for a wide range of regulatory returns, with a specific focus on COREP.

    A part qualfication in accounting good knowledge of COREP is required, as well as prior exposure to Financial Services or Banking.

    Key Duties

    • Comply with the FCA/PRA’s Individual Conduct Rules, as outlined below.

    • Assist with the development and maintenance of both internal and external capital and liquidity calculation and reporting tools on ad hoc daily, weekly and quarterly basis.
    • Assist with the implementation/enhancement of regulatory reporting software.
    • Work with the regulatory reporting manager to review processes relating to Regulatory Reporting to identify improvements and thus enhance control / system capabilities
    • Reconcile balance sheet on periodic basis
    • Keep up to date developments and changes in regulatory issues
    • Analyse and help with the implement new legislation
    • Cover for other team members when required
    • Other ad hoc assignments



    Key Requirements

    • Part qualification (ACCA, ACA preferred) with strong academic background in quantitative disciplines such as Mathematics, Economics, Finance or Engineering
    • Ability to work under pressure, if necessary, under deadline-driven conditions
    • Strong Regulatory reporting background - Experience with COREP is essential
    • Experience within a banking organization or a similar financial institution
    • Exposure to regulatory reporting and awareness of regulatory reporting rules
    • Self-motivation and ability to work with minimal supervision within a team structure
    • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (especially Ms Excel, PowerPoint)
    • Excellent writing skills
    • Good listening and communication skills
    • Through working style and excellent attention to detail
    • Fast learner with good problem-solving skills
    • Ability to challenge and influence
    • Strong interpersonal skills
    • Excellent analytical and reporting skills

    £50000 - £60000 per annum

    My leading global bank are looking to bring on an experienced PM/PMO to join a centralised operations.

    Candidates must have:

    Experience
