Application Support Specialist

DB2 / Windows / Linux

McGregor Boyall are currently recruiting for an Application Specialist/Application Support Specialist with experience of DB2/Linux/Windows to work for our client, a leading Fintech company in Cheshire. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Application Support Specialist with knowledge of DB2 to join a well-established application support team.

Based in Cheshire, this role is easily commutable from Knutsford, Stockport, Crewe and surrounding areas.

As our successful Application Support Analyst, you will be responsible for providing incident management response in a timely manner and you will have knowledge in the following areas;

Windows/Linux/Unix OS or Server with familiarity of DB2

Unix Scripting or Connect Direct or Websphere/MQ Messaging

Good knowledge of scheduling tools – Previous acquaintance with TWS or Autosys is preferred

Good customer service skills

    The exciting start-up company are looking to expand. They are designing cutting edge technologies, which consist of medical imaging. They design software packages which analyse patient’s health using MRI/CT and Ultrasound.

    The company are helping people to diagnose cardiovascular problems such as strokes and possible heart attacks much earlier on through the cutting-edge technology they have designed.

    The Role:

    • Utilising various machine learning techniques to help enhance the product
    • Preferred coding languages are Python and R
    • Working with emerging technologies such as Tensorflow would be desirable
    • Will entail an individual who is willing to research, to enhance an understanding of medical image processing

    Experience:

    • A Masters' level degree or above in a relevant discipline
    • Extensive experience in deep learning and machine learning
    • Commercial experience in modeling and delivering image processing applications for medical purposes
    • Willing to be part of a small team and grow with the company

As a member of the Technology & Change Business Partnering team, the successful candidate will provide specialist help to ensure appropriate support, maintenance, development and security of Microsoft based client communication systems and associated services, to meet the evolving needs of users and the business.

Responsible for maintaining good third party vendor relationships to assist with delivering change within an ITIL framework.
