An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Big Data Engineer specialising in Spark and Python libraries to work for a leading banking client based in London.

You will work as part of a cross-functional agile delivery team, including analysts, developers and testers. You will bring an innovative approach to software development, focusing on using the latest technologies and practices, as part of a relentless focus on business value.

Key skills/experience required:

  • Senior developer skills utilising Python and Spark fundamentals – extensive understanding of PySpark and Pandas.
  • Extensive experience of modern Python libraries e.g. numpy, scikit-learn, etc.
  • Good experience of creating and manipulating data on a Hadoop environment using HDFS
  • A background in designing and developing high-quality server side processing in Python. An understanding of how to ensure these applications are robust, with easy to navigate code, and reusable components
  • Practical experience of test driven development and constant refactoring in continuous integration environment
  • Knowledge of SQL and relational databases
  • Experience working in an agile team, practicing Scrum, Kanban or XP
  • Practical experience of delivering good quality code within enterprise scale development
  • Experience in other programing languages, specifically Java and Scala would be helpful
  • Behavior Driven Development, particularly experience of how it can be used to define requirements in a collaborative manner, ensure that the team builds the right thing and create a system of living documentation

    Our client, a private banking group is seeking an experienced Regulatory Reporting Developer to join the team based in the London.

    Main duties and purpose of the role:

    • Be a central point of expertise and consultation on technical aspects of the regulatory reporting platform
    • Ensuring development aligns to agreed standards and is of a high quality
    • Evaluating and adopting new techniques to advance the platform
    • Working with product and operations teams to streamline processes
    • Development across each component of the reporting platform
    • Aiding planning sessions and prioritisation to facilitate agile delivery of features
    • Day to day support of the platform to help diagnose and fix production issues

    Preferred experiences:

    • Experience working in financial services/regulated environments
    • Experience building and supporting data solutions with Microsoft technology
    • SQL – Server 2008R2 to 2016 with solid T-SQL

    Trade Surveillance BA- Perm-up to £85k base -Banking

    Location: City of London

    Responsibilities:

    − Facilitate workshops with third party vendors and business users to capture and document surveillance requirements

    − Undertake detailed data analysis and provide mapping solutions to on-board new products onto the strategic real time surveillance platform, engaging internal BAs from other projects accordingly

    − Create and maintain design specification documents for trade surveillance alert models

    − Provide QA testing teams with detailed acceptance criteria for all business requirements

    Liaise with surveillance analysts to lead the troubleshooting and triaging of production issues to drive root cause identification and resolution

    − Support UAT testing to validate the business readiness of each surveillance software release

    − Document, track and escalate risks and issues to project lead as appropriate

    − Participate in daily scrums, backlog refinement sessions, project status meetings and sprint retrospectives
