About the Role
The Business Systems Applications Analyst will work as part of the overall Central IT team, ultimately reporting to the Operational Lead. Their time will be spent predominantly supporting the existing business-critical systems in a 3rd line capacity, developing analytical and integration solutions, and carrying out application upgrade/maintenance.
This is a varied role, working within the Central IT team in the Manchester office.

Key Responsibilities will include:-

  • Provide 3rd line support and administration for BDP’s Finance and HR systems.
  • Develop and support analytics solutions, including B.I. reports, dashboards, data warehousing
  • Develop and support application and database integrations
  • Develop workflows and solutions
  • Database administration
  • Application upgrades and server maintenance
  • Working between the IT and Accounts teams addressing internal workflow and development requirements
  • Technical and administrative documentation



About You
The successful candidate will have:-

  • Experience in application support, including administering HR and ERP Solutions
  • Advanced knowledge of MS SQL Server 2008 R2 through to 2016
  • Experience in Microsoft Azure Data Solutions (Synapse, Data Factory, Azure SQL)
  • Advanced T-SQL scripting (stored procedures, functions, triggers, dynamic SQL, set-based logic, XML, query optimisation, error-handling)
  • SQL Server Integration Services skills
  • Experience working with 3rd party APIs
  • Advanced BI Development experience (SSRS, Tableau, PowerBI)
  • Database Administration skills in a major RDBMS environment, preferably MS SQL Server
  • Software development knowledge / skills
  • An IT background supporting financial / accounting functions
  • User focussed with a confident, supportive manner



Preferred skills include:-

  • Experience of Deltek Vision / Zellis ResourceLink /Anaplan would be very advantageous
  • Sharepoint 2013 Administration
  • Experience of Oracle RDBM and PL/SQL
  • Microsoft Power Platform & Dataverse

    A Global Financial Services provider working at the heart of the world’s financial, energy and commodities markets covering FX, Rates, Credit, Equities and Energy & Commodities are looking for a Senior Platform Services Analyst to join their team in London.
    Clients include banks, insurance companies, pension and hedge funds, asset managers, energy producers and refiners, as well as risk and compliance managers and charities.


    Responsibilities:

    • Working within a shift rota to provide support coverage from 7am – 6pm
    • Contribute towards ‘follow the sun’ support model, working closely with global teams in APAC and US to ensure pre-market health checks are performed for each region
    • Perform regional start of day health checks to ensure all members are connected to the platform
    • Utilising proprietary tools, provide daily application support and troubleshooting for platform members and internal users, escalating to Development teams appropriately
    • Daily interaction with all internal stakeholders with regards to support issues
    • Efficiently create and track issues within an incident-management system to help identify trends and patterns
    • Create and monitor internal reports and usage queries
    • Assist with product testing and project work


    Skills:

    • At least 3 years hands-on support experience within a financial institution (buy-side, sell-side, venue/platform provider)
    • Proven experience of MSSQL, Oracle and Sybase database environments, including complex query-writing
    • Solid application support experience within a Unix / Linux environment
    • Good working knowledge of the FIX protocol
    • Proven experience of supporting Windows Server environments
    • Experience in troubleshooting network problems: i.e. firewall and routing problems
    • Good understanding of international Equity market mechanics and flows


    Desirable:

    • Exposure to supporting message-based architecture

    Responsibilities:

    • Utilising proprietary tools, provide daily application support and troubleshooting for platform members and internal trade desks, escalating to development teams appropriately
    • Fulfilling client customisation requests within algorithmic trading systems and MTF platform
    • Troubleshooting and analysis of order routing and trade flow and post-trade issues
    • Managing team chats, queues, and mailboxes to ensure requests are being actioned in a timely manner with appropriate prioritization
    • Ensuring incident and problem management procedures are followed and performing analysis to determine trends and patterns
    • Assist with product testing and project work
    • Working within a shift rota to provide support coverage from 7am – 6pm
