Our client, a leading global banking and financial services organisation, is looking for a Collateral Management Lawyer to support their Custody and Fund Services business within Corporate and Investment Bank in EMEA. The role is an initial 6 month contract offering up to £800 per day and they are looking for someone to start ASAP. The role is based in London.

The role is within the Legal Department in London and involves working closely with the operations and business representatives as well as other corporate functions, globally, including compliance officers, risk management, sales, product managers, and other infrastructure groups throughout Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

Responsibilities

  • Technical drafting of various collateral management agreements (e.g. derivatives collateral management agreements and triparty collateral management agreements) and related documentation.
  • Negotiating all agreements relevant for this business with a variety of types of clients such as broker dealers, pension plans, corporates, mutual funds, UCITS and other funds and financial institutions including collateral management agreements, confidentiality agreements, margin control agreements, and other ancillary documentation.
  • Advising the business on a wide range of issues (including regulatory) affecting the business and their clients.
  • Dealing with daily enquiries from the sales, product development, and risk management teams, including issues relating to legal risk issues
  • Attendance at and active participation in internal and external meetings, e.g. product development meetings, business control meetings, document negotiations with clients and/or their internal and external legal counsel.
  • Instructing and liaising with external counsel, as required, including review and analysis of legal opinions.
  • Advising the businesses on key legal/regulatory issues.
  • Coordinating closely with colleagues in the US and Asia on documentation and related legal issues affecting the businesses.
  • Liaising with business representatives and legal and compliance colleagues and other control functions e.g. credit, risk, tax, in the EMEA region and globally.
  • Assistance with the development of policies, procedures and controls.

Skills and experience

  • Qualified lawyer with 5 years PQE
  • Some background in providing legal services to businesses that are operationally intensive and prior interaction with other providers of agency services (e.g. subcustodians, CSDs, clearing houses, etc.) is preferred but not essential.
  • A background of working within Financial services and banking or private practice and in house is preferred.
  • Exceptional drafting and negotiating skills are essential
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to deal with demanding client base and working proactively and independently.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills

    Technical Analyst – CRM

    My client is currently recruiting for a Technical Analyst on a permanent basis in Manchester. As the Technical Analyst you will review and allocate IT requests received across the business and be required to work closely with the wider IT department, acting as an interface between the IT department and the rest of the business to support successful business solutions.

    Responsibilities:

    • Provide technical analysis for systems including business impact analysis, writing support documentation and implementation support
    • Support and review defect tickets in accordance with the defect life cycle
    • Support the problem management process through identifying repeat incidents, raising and investigating problems and known errors, working with other IT teams when needed
    • Support the service introduction process through attending meetings and workshops, documenting work instructions and training other team members in the use and support of new services as directed
