Contract Java Developer
American investment banking firm seeks a Fullstack Developer for a 6 month contract paying up to £900 p/d, within their Technology department based in London.
The firm are hiring a Senior Java Developer to join a team engaged to build a next generation, cross-asset risk system platform.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced and strong Java developer with a minimum of 6 years in industry and meet required skills as much as possible.
The candidate must be a self-starter willing to tackle complex application development problems.
A track record delivering high quality financial application with substantial user base is essential and an interest in development productivity is desirable.
Required Skills:
- Strong knowledge on one or more object oriented programming preferably Java but not limited
- Strong foundation in Data Structure and Algorithms
- Strong knowledge on multi-threading, collections, File IO, serialization
- Experience with REST API or good understanding of it
- Experience with message oriented middleware technologies
- Strong database knowledge with experience with at least one relational database.
- Substantial experience of Linux operating system
- Exposure to Python, preferred with some experience
- Experience with modern development, build and integration tools
- Strong communication skills
- Understanding of Distributed Systems
Desirable Skills:
- Python
- Mongo DB or experience with any other no-sql database
- Strong understanding of Distributed Systems and microservices
- Experience with Containerized development using Docker, Kubernetes.
- Experience with cloud based technologies and web services
- Decent technical writing skills for documentation
- Precise, pragmatic and collaborative
- Knowledge of messaging systems and event-driven architectures. Knowledge on Kafka
- Experience in Investment Banking or finance
