You would be working within a medium to large Agile team delivering complex message-driven systems in Unix/Linux environment.

The required skills include but are not limited to are:

  • Expert knowledge of Core Java
  • Demonstrable experience working in Unix/Linux environment
  • Hands-on experience in scripting languages such as Perl or Shell
  • Expert knowledge with SQL, Oracle and other Relational databases like DB2
  • Sound knowledge of Integration tools- XML, SOAP, JSON, Spring
  • Experience working on Build tools: Gradle, Maven, Jenkins, GIT
  • Demonstrable experience working on message-driven systems is a must

    The company are helping people to diagnose cardiovascular problems such as strokes and possible heart attacks much earlier on through the cutting-edge technology they have designed.

    The Role:

    • Utilising various machine learning techniques to help enhance the product
    • Preferred coding languages are Python and R
    • Working with emerging technologies such as Tensorflow would be desirable
    • Will entail an individual who is willing to research, to enhance an understanding of medical image processing

    Experience:

    • A Masters' level degree or above in a relevant discipline

Implementation Project Manager (Software Applications / Data Migration)

Market leading Investment Management client is looking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic Implementation / Project Manager with a track record of successful software and data migration projects (not infrastructure please). This role will be based in Edinburgh City Centre and will be offered on an initial 6 month basis, but with a view to extend.

What does the role entail?

  • Working with project, tech and business leads to define implementation strategy.
  • Liaising with tech delivery, operations and test teams to ensure appropriate consideration of priorities and constraints.
  • Overseeing the process from migration to live operations.
  • Managing the creation, maintenance, configuration control and storage of the migration process.


What experience will the ideal candidate have?

  • Experience of technical/operational implementation delivery and change management.
  • Management experience e.g. will have overseen large scale IT implementations.
  • Strong data migration experience
  • Experience of platform configuration and release management
  • Experience of working with 3rd party providers

I am ideally looking for candidates who are able to start immediately although 4 week's notice will be considered. The role will pay up to £550 per day for the correct candidate.
