A telecoms company based in Newcastle upon Tyne, England is currently looking for a number of Data Architects on a permanent basis. You will be working on a multi year digital programme that will involve you being responsible for implementing a high performance, futureproof and economical big data infrastructure for all data gathered across the organisation.

Therefore it is essential that all applicants have proven Data Architecture experience. It would also be highly desirable if you have Big Data knowledge, strong RDBMS skills, experience with large TB+ databases and good knowledge of Linux.

On a day to day basis, you will be work on -

  • Rationalizing a number of databases used by the company
  • Implement a data dictionary
  • Define the best database solution to manage large amounts of data and be able to provide very fast reports
  • Implement a robust database ecosystem
  • Integrate database access to a range of reporting and monitoring
  • Work in close coordination with the other team members
  • Work in an Agile environment (scrum meetings, JIRA ticket-based process)

  • Proven Data Architecture experience

  • Strong RDBMS skills, focus on MySQL/MariaDB
  • Big Data knowledge
  • Good knowledge of Linux
  • Ability to work from Newcastle upon Tyne 5 days per week

Desirable

  • Experience of working with telecommunication technologies and protocols (TCP/IP, cellular, wifi)
  • Knowledge of virtualization, with focus on VMWare
  • Experience with configuration management tools such as puppet and ansible

  • HR Project Manager - 12 month FTC
    £40000 - £45000 per annum


    I am seeking an HR Project Manager to join a fast paced, multinational organisation of around 1000 employees to join on a 12 month fixed term contract and support the People & OD Director in driving HR projects within the People function. It is a hands-on role that blends general HR experience with managing HR Projects for the delivery of HR solutions and services to improve management and HR practices. The role will manage and co-ordinate the activity, delivery and reporting of the People Plan, and any associated business change programmes. Lead and drive specific projects or workstreams working with Best Practice Teams and/or our global HR team.

    • Define, manage and deliver specific projects or workstreams e.g. HR Processes Library to make sure key milestones are identified and agreed
    • Devise and manage the regular HR and project reporting and analytics with associated business improvement highlighting benefits, risks, issues and mitigations
    • Produce the monthly People reports and dashboards
    • Identify and build effective relationships with stakeholders outside the function to make sure we have agreed and aligned dependencies to deliver the People Plan
    • Work with local HR teams to develop local implementation plans to make sure projects are delivered to budget, time and policy
    • Support the upskilling of HR team to deliver HR services aligned to best practice



    The ideal candidate will have a combination of HR Generalist experience with strong project management expertise.

    • Practical understanding, experience and pragmatic delivery of HR processes and practices
    • A background in managing HR Projects and driving better practice
    • Ability to influence senior stakeholders and pre-empt client needs and take innovative solutions to them
    • Ability to solve problems and identify solutions and be proactive in approach
    • High level communication and analytics skills
