This is an exciting opportunity for a Cloud / DevOps engineer (2+ years experience) to join an innovative, cloud-native software consultancy based in Leeds.

Due to organic growth and new customer acquisitions, they are looking to bolsted the cloud team to work alongside their developers on cutting-edge projects.

Role overview:

- Work closely with the egineering team to identify the best cloud-based solution for customers
- Design & Delivery of AWS projects
- Ensure application performance, uptime, and scale, maintaining high standards of code quality and thoughtful design
- Managing cloud environments in accordance with company security guidelines

Tech skillset required:

- Experience designing and delivering AWS solutions
- Understanding of the five-pillars of well architectured framework
- Programming experience in production
- Knowledge of javascript & node.js

    Role Responsibilities:

    • Build and maintain a suite of applications providing critical near “real time” and historic management information

    • Gather requirements for data reporting from business stakeholders

    • Develop ad-hoc and scheduled reports containing transactional data analysis for internal and external clients.

    • Ensure existing reporting applications deliver consistent and accurate data to front office users.

    • Provide training and guidance for business users.

    • Maintain system security and standing data (including inter-system mappings).

    Experience / Competencies:

    • Good SQL Server essential.

    • DB/2, PL/SQL and SSAS would be a distinct advantage.

    • Proven SQL Skills including stored procedures, transactions, user defined functions, DB security management and design, SQL Server Reporting Services and advanced, cross server queries.

    • The ability to turn your hand to anything, manage your own workload and deliver - often to short deadlines.

    • Knowledge of the financial markets, broking and MIFID II, while not essential would be nice to have.

    • Demonstrated and effective communication skills in writing and verbally.

    • Open to innovative ideas/ experiences and ability to create new ideas, approaches or insights.

    • Understands ideas and has a viewpoint on the markets and economy.

    • Evidence of being comfortable working in fast paced or pressured environments.

    £750 - £775 per day + Hybrid working

    UI Developer

    Job Type: Contract - Inside
    Day Rate:
    £750-£775p.d
    Start Date:
    Flexible - ASAP - Feb 23
    Duration:
    6 months initial - Likely to extend

    We are currently recruiting a contractor for a major bank for an initial 6 month contract.

    Key Technical Skills:

    • 5+ years of experience with JavaScript and HTML
    • Extensive experience of developing Web-based UIs with React
    • Experience of Python or a JVM based language desirable
    • Understanding of HTTP and REST based architectures
    • Experience working in a Financial Services, Banking environment or related is critical for this role

    Nice to have:

    • Basic knowledge of relational databases and SQL
    • Any experience with tools such as TeamCity, Kubernetes, OpenShift and Amazon Web Services would be beneficial.
    • Open and collaborative communication
    • Experience and aptitude of Agile and DevOps approaches – e.g. continuous integration, test automation, frequent releases, containerisation
