Digital Banking Fintech – Multiple Software Engineers – (Go/Python/React) up to £110k

A top London based Digital Banking Fintech have embarked on rapid growth plans, launching their groundbreaking product across the UK and other global locations. Their expansion is largely focussed around technology and they are looking for multiple software engineers to facilitate this. They are using cutting edge technologies such as; Go, Python and React within their stack and are always open to exploring new and innovative ideas to take the fintech forward.

They will consider software engineers from a diverse range of backgrounds who are willing to work with a variety of tech as mentioned; Go, Python, React, Java, Cloud Tech, Kubernetes, Docker. They also operate with a flat hierarchy, meaning that anyone at any level can have input to the future direction of the business!

Given their rapid growth plans they are also considering software engineers from junior to technical lead levels and successful candidates can look to receive from £60k to £110k + potential bonus + healthy equity share

Requirements

  • Strong Software Engineer with experience of more than one language (Go, Python, React etc)
  • Open to new challenges and creative mindset
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Financial Accountant Banking
    Up to £400 per day


    Role Purpose

    • Collect complex financial information from the banks subsidiaries, branches and associates and prepare consolidated financial statements for reporting to the Group CAO, Financial Operations ManCo and externally.
    • Provide assurance to senior management and the Group CAO over external disclosure by analytically reviewing consolidated financial information and writing commentary that fully explains the financial performance and position of the group.
    • Ensure financial reporting complies with applicable financial reporting standards, SEC rules and local laws.
    • Drive group financial reporting processes, identify improvements and deliver efficiency gains.
    • Ensure financial reporting processes adhere to established SOX controls; identify control weaknesses and path to remediation.


    Accountabilities

    • Preparation of primary statements, notes and other disclosures for quarterly earnings releases, interim report and the Annual Report and Accounts
    • Preparation or review of ad hoc information, reports, and presentations
    • Implement and monitor monthly and quarterly financial reporting processes to ensure timely dissemination and collection of financial information
    • Implementation of new reporting requirements and controls to the reporting process


    Major Challenges

    • The increasing burden of new accounting and disclosure requirements
    • The need to work in an environment governed by the requirements of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act
    • The need to meet deadlines set both internally and externally
    • The need to manage multiple stakeholders


    Experience

    • Recognised professional accountancy qualification is essential
    • Financial reporting and consolidation experience is beneficial
    • Experience with consolidation tools, particularly Hyperion (Saracen), is beneficial
    • Ability to communicate complex financial issues confidently to line management
    • An awareness of developments in accounting and regulatory environment
    • Strong spreadsheet skills
    • Ability to analyse unstructured problems and queries and propose pragmatic solutions
    • Self-starter/motivated – ability to work with minimum supervision with attention to detail
    • Work to strict deadlines, under pressure and be a team player

  • Hedge Fund - Java Technical Lead - Permanent
    £140000 - £160000 per annum + 30% bonus + benefits

    Market leading Global Hedge fund seeks a Java Technical Lead to join and lead a new greenfield project team being created to deliver a front to back technical platform that rationalises the firm’s underlying datasets to produce various derived data for the investor relations team as well as the board of partners. The target application stack is to be java based running off Docker containers on top of a Kubernetes cluster, whilst using React UIs on the frontend.

    Work with senior stakeholders from Product Control / IR / Operations and the Head of Engineering to formulate goal driven sprint plans and then ensure goals are achieved in a timely professional manner.

    Role and responsibilities:

    • Day to day management of a complex application suite, improving stability and performance over time.
    • Develop existing applications further and creating new applications to meet business requirements as they arise.
    • Take ownership of existing applications. Improve processes, tools and procedures as needed.
    • Release management working closely with the Dev team.
    • Detailed analysis of issues that need escalation

    Required Skills:

    • Extensive experience working with Java 8+ 7 years+
    • experience of using Python very useful
    • React Front End knowledge and experience
    • Agile Scrum (Certified nice to have)
    • Good knowledge of SQL and NOSQL databases as well as applications derived from both lambda and kappa architectures.
    • Some understanding of Finance, ideally in the Equity Derivatives, Fixed Income, FX and Equity areas. Hedge Fund or Sell Side knowledge useful however Investment Banking experience also very useful
