I am currently looking for an experienced eCommerce Production Support Engineer to join a top investment bank based in London. The role will be a contract role and will be working on a new project within the business.

The Production Engineer main responsibilities are:

Pro-actively monitor, manage and improve availability and performance of the production environments (from presentation and application layers to middleware and databases)

Provide escalation coverage in the “Follow The Sun” support model

Pro-actively manage the capacity of production applications

Customize production tools (monitoring, batch scheduling, backups, deployment tolls, automation)

Provide feedback and propose solutions to management on performance, capacity

Manage eCommerce projects : involvement in application design/architecture, set up environment, put in place the production standard tools

Essential skills/experience:

System administration – Good experience on Windows and Linux/Unix systems: IIS, .NET, WCF, WebSphere Application Server, Apache, Tomcat, Java EE

Networks – good understanding of network principles and practical knowledge of load balancing technologies, as F5 Big-IP is essential

Monitoring – Good and practical experience of some of the following preferable: Geneos, Introscope, Dynatrace, Witbe

Scripting (Python, Shell, SQL....) and development skills for administration, monitoring and support tools.

Test tools – practical experience of Jmeter is desirable

Knowledge on the following technology would make a difference: Ansible, Springboot, Docker, Kafka

    Our client, a national savings bank, is looking for a GDPR Compliance Delivery Manager to join their organisation. It is a 6-month fixed term contract based in London. They are able to offer £52,000 per annum pro rata for the 6 months.

    The role is responsible for overseeing and managing all data controller responsibilities surrounding GDPR, ensuring all compliance and mitigating risk by ensuring they are uncovered by the risk policy owners. You will be working closely with the organisation B2B Compliance Manager to ensure any GDPR work is compliant with rules set by the organisation and other laws.

    Responsibilities

    • Collaborating and coordination with the DPO and B2B Compliance Manager to create and maintain a new data protection strategy and legal framework This will be achieved by working with Clients to determine arrangements to ensure all procedures and provisions meet compliance standards.
    • Provide a monthly report to the DPO outlining any issues regarding GDPR compliance across the business
    • Act as business Manager whilst implementing the joint data controller requirements that fall within GDPR
    • Oversee documentation surrounding GDPR including the drafting of any technical clauses such as Data Sharing Agreements. Maintain and amend manuals and staff training to ensure it is up to date with data protection laws.

    Experience and Qualifications

    • Data Protection qualified and proven extensive working experience within data protection
    • Extensive knowledge of legal and regulatory matters
    • Experience with analysis of documentation and data including, creating policies and procedures by reviewing analysing and translating analysing legislation, and industry consultation papers.
    • Strong privacy law knowledge and implementation of data protection/information rights within a financial services organisation.
    • A good understanding of joint data controller responsibilities following strict data protections rules

The candidate will collaborate in the support and maintenance of front office risk systems responsible for producing the risks that trading desks use for hedging, for risk management and regulatory reporting. The candidate will face the business directly and interact with traders, quants and the technology department on daily basis. Gathering evidence from servers (Linux, Windows), log files, databases (MSSQL) are involved in the day to day work. Prior exposure and familiarity to vendor (Murex, ICE, Markitwire) and clearing workflows is a huge plus.

Experience working on front office application support for top bank.

Computing Skills Required:

Knowledge and expertise in RDBMS (Oracle or/and Sybase).

Strong PL/SQL skills, ability to write complex, advanced joins, SQL cursors, and triggers.

Ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of prior Coding/Testing /Application Support experience.

Infrastructure – Good Understanding/Exposure to (Windows server 2012 /Linux/UNIX).

Ability to read, debug and understand C or C# code.
