A leading professional services firm is seeking an End User Manager who can help shape, support, and drive forward the success of this team.
The role:
Manage day to day activities of End User Computing Team based in the UK and US - delivering new End User solutions and improvements to existing services. This includes the virtual desktop PC environment, tablet and portable computers, thin clients, and mobile smart phones.
Key responsibilities
Helping to define the strategies for the provision of a Global end user computing platform from the desktop to the mobile and ensuring that the deployment, management, and security is in line with the expectations of the business and known best practice
Working closely with other Team leaders to provide a joined-up approach to service delivery as provided by the end user computing technology we deploy. This would include the User Experience and Support teams.
Project work consisting of the continued development of the Virtual Desktop Infrastructure, User and Application virtualisation systems and the core Windows build and application mix.
The candidate must be willing to provide a high level of ownership for the team and any projects from initial concept through to final deployment, as well as the on-going support and maintenance. A significant element of this will be the build out of a Windows 1011 and Office deployment on during the move to a cloud based modern management solution.
Keep up to date with changing market technologies in this specialised field and advise accordingly. This includes the various scripting and deployment solutions in use as well as our VDI environment based on VMware Horizon View and any competing products.
Skills required:
Must have a good understanding and working knowledge of most of the software and hardware platforms in use, listed below along with related skills.
• Windows 10 support and management including WSUS, Sysprep, MDT and imaging
• VMWare Horizon VDI 7.x/8.x to manage and configure virtual desktops
• Workspace One UEM Mobile Device Management
• Microsoft Endpoint Manager, (Intune)
• Microsoft Office 2016 and above deployment and customisation
• Application packaging, customisation and deployment
• Microsoft AppV application virtualisation
• Management of Microsoft Group Policies and Active Directory
• Ivanti user environment and performance management
• Best practice for O/S firewalls and anti-malware solutions such as Carbon Black and MS Defender
• Performance monitoring for user experience optimisation such as Systrack
• Scripting in either DOS or PowerShell
• Microsoft Azure AD and Office 365

Qualifications
Microsoft certification would be desired alongside any other forms of manufacturer specific accreditation.
