McGregor Boyall has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Environment Support Specialist to join a dynamic financial services organization focused on modernization and customer experience, bringing financial services into the 21st century. This is a permanent opportunity.

You will join a fast-paced and growing team based in their flagship office in Glasgow city centre, providing both IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS) and UNIX support for all test environment services in order to enable a vast array of testing services to various business stakeholders.

You will also be given the opportunity to diversify your skillset and cross-train in other technical areas.

This role will play a part in supporting changes to key technologies to support and drive forward the Test Environment Strategy.

Experience Required:

  • Commercial of IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS) is IDEAL but not ESSENTIAL
  • Experience of a UNIX environment
  • Shell scripting
  • Jenkins
  • Knowledge of the Testing Environment Experience of providing technical guidance and support to stakeholders
  • Experience working within large multi-platform environments
  • Experience of components and their use within the Testing environments
  • Knowledge of reviewing/updating playbooks
  • Good overall understanding of test environments, constituent components and their interoperability
  • Familiar with SDLC and different testing methodologies
  • Use and interpretation of information/diagnostic tools
  • Knowledge of deploying applications both from installers and as individual components

The Salesforce Administrator will work as part of the team dedicated to ensuring that we are maximizing efficiency and capitalizing on the full features and benefits of the system based on the various user group needs. We are seeking someone with excellent technical and communication skills who can interface directly with internal stakeholders to understand their needs in order to administer and enhance the system accordingly. This person will serve as the "go to" for users, promote adoption, keep current on new releases and AppExchange solutions, provide training, and more. Additionally, the Administrator will perform basic updates, such as add/delete users, and adding basic custom fields.

Essential Requirements

A system administrator needs a solid understanding of the organization’s business. They must have solid salesforce.com skills and ideally, understand the general concepts of Customer Relationship Management (CRM). Most importantly they should be proactive, organized and logical.

Qualifications

  • 3 to 5 years of Salesforce administration experience
  • In-depth knowledge of the standard capabilities of SFDC and have successfully expanded on those capabilities through the use of custom code (Apex, s-controls) and/or integration with external systems
  • Strong reporting background using standard reporting tools including standard salesforce.com reporting functionality
  • Salesforce.com Administrator certification
  • Minimum expectation of a Bachelor’s degree OR equivalent education/experience

3rd Line Support Engineer (Windows)

Respected and well-known Glasgow organisation requires a Senior 3rd Line Support Engineer (Windows / SQL Server) to design and lead a number of infrastructure improvements across the estate (before moving into a support phase).

With an overall responsibility for software, hardware and networks this position will suit a talented senior support engineer looking to make their first steps into design of systems. The role will see your role split across the following variety of key tasks:-

  • Helping with the future strategy for the infrastructure team including Windows, AD, VmWare / Hypervisors, RDBMS (either SQL Server or Oracle) and some Linux.
  • Providing the senior technical hands-on support and escalation point for the team.
  • Help develop and improve the processes and policies across the team.
  • Work closely with the Head of IT on the architecture and strategy for the team moving forward.

To succeed in this varied and interesting position you will require experience in most of the following:-

  1. Windows server platforms (some Linux would be a plus)
  2. High availability server host architecture / clusters - ideally VMware or MS Hypervisors
  3. Basic skill level in the administration of RDBMS systems (either SQL Server or Oracle)
  4. Active Directory
  5. Backup management strategy / tools (e.g. Veritas)
