Legal Counsel (Telcoms) - Netherlands

Our client is global leader in the Telecommunications field.
They are currently looking for a Dutch qualified Lawyer to support the business in the Netherlands.

Requirements for this role:

  • Must be a Dutch qualified Lawyer with atleast 5-7 years Post Qualfication Experience.
  • Must have Telecommunications experience, from either private practise or an In-House Legal position
  • Languages: Dutch (Native), English (business fluent)
  • Excellent drafting and negotiation skills with strong commercial sense on risk & reward
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, team player, business mindset, can-do attitude

The Role:

  • The general purpose of the role is to provide legal support to the Companies commercial operations in Netherlands (as well as other countries as required) and country activities.
  • Support Customer Operations, carrier and non-carrier / TEPS transactions, including drafting and negotiation of commercial agreements end-to-end in coordination with the relevant sales team and in cooperation with other legal functions and teams as needed;
  • Support the sales teams across internal approval process for sales transactions;
  • Render housekeeping activities to the legacy structure in Netherlands;
  • Provide legal advice to the country matters including employment law, data privacy, finance, M&A, real estate, health & safety, commercial, disputes and litigation, acting as legal consultant with the relevant local stakeholders;
  • Support local procurement in achieving back-to-back contracts with local suppliers and subcontractors, as needed;
  • Support compliance matters and be the ambassador of the Ethics and Compliance program;
  • Keep legal document filing;
  • Monitor outside counsel;

    Responsibilities

    You will develop components that connect to electronic trading venues such as brokers and exchanges, including components that integrate with pre-trade risk checking systems.

    Requirements

    To be successful in the role, you will have to demonstrate the following:

    • Expert level C++, Linux programming experience.
    • Deep understanding of concurrent, multi-threaded application environments.
    • Understand the mechanics of trading at least one asset class (equities, futures, FX etc.)
    • Experience in API and low latency development.
    • Knowledge of Refinitiv, Bloomberg, direct feeds platforms and basic networking/connectivity skills.

    Our client is a leading and well-regarded financial services organisation who are seeking a talented writer to join the team on a permanent basis.

    The postholder will be responsible for developing and implementing a social media strategy across the group which has various business lines including Banking & Asset Management. Growing the digital offering, you will source content by interviewing and networking across the business at all levels including C suite and deliver through various platforms internally and externally. The business is migrating to Episerver so experience with this software along with social media Management tools – Hootsuite or others desired. You will also be expected to develop relationships with wider digital and marketing functions, supporting where required on various projects.

    Experience coming from the B2B financial services space, professional services, journalist, publication or agency side working with these clients will be essential.
