European Head of Application Support (FX & FI)
This is a Director level opportunity at a highly successful Global Investment bank. They are seeking a new European Head of Engineering with an application support focus for their FX and Fixed income business.
This investment Bank is looking for a seasoned technology professional with a strong understanding of the financial services industry and experience with multiple platforms and systems. The ideal candidate will be a customer-focused leader who can handle challenging situations and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
The successful Head of engineering will be responsible for leading over 50 technologists across multiple locations globally.
Requirements for the job:
- Strong understanding of financial services products (ideally FX or Fixed income) and systems, including multiple platforms such as ION, Murex, Calypso, Sophis, PMG, and Market Data Services.
- Front-to-back experience across at least three technology platforms.
- Customer-centric leadership skills and ability to handle escalations and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
- In-depth knowledge of trade lifecycles, risk management, and financial reporting.
- Hands-on experience with various technology areas, including infrastructure, networks, and trading venues.
- Strong leadership skills, including team building and fostering innovation and automation.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to lead by example.
- Strong communication skills for regular interaction with clients and stakeholders.
- Experience with modern technology solutions, including cloud computing and containerization.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
