As a Lead front End developer, you will be working within the Digital Development team to help bring new web capabilities to existing products within our clients suite. Your main responsibilities will include translation of UI/UX design into compliant code. Alongside this you will work with the marketing team to help bridge the gap between visual design and technical implementation. The ideal candidate will be an experienced Front End developer, with at least 6 years commercial experience, who is up to date with ever evolving front end technologies.

Your day to day responsibilities will include:

  • Developing modern web solutions that provide great user experiences across multiple browsers and devices
  • Build reusable code, components and libraries for future use
  • Previous experience with Agile methodology and tools
  • Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs
  • Work with developers, product managers, QA engineers, system administrators, vendors and others to ensure features are delivered to a high standard

Desired Skills and Experience:

Essential:

  • HTML, CSS / SASS & JavaScript (ES6 & jQuery)
  • Build tools & module bundlers like Gulp & Webpack
  • Linting tools such as ESLint & StyleLint
  • Building and maintaining component libraries (eg Patternlab, StoryBook, Salesforce LDS etc)
  • Responsive design practises using Bootstrap and CSS Grid
  • SEO principles
  • Web usability and accessibility standards

Familiarity:

  • Automated UI Testing
  • Experience of an Agile software development lifecycle
  • Understanding of DevOps delivery model
  • Docker
