Front Office Application Support - OMS




Front Office Application Support Specialist required to be part of a growing team in London. Currently there are 4 in London and 2 in New York that are responsible for ensuring the smooth running and stability of OMSs and EMSs for this FS client. The role will focus on Charles River but will also include responsibility for real time position and pnl systems.

This role will include monitoring critical systems, anticipating and resolving issues as they arise and thinking of ways of reducing common problems. Possessing good analytical skills to assist in resolving complex issues.
You will also provide 24/5 operational and business support of all critical systems. The Portfolio Management and Trading systems operate 24 hours a day from Sunday night to Friday evening. This position will involve working shifts of 8.5 hours per day between 07:00 – 18:00, Monday-Friday.

Main responsibilities:

• Front Office application providing technical and business support to portfolio managers, execution traders and trade support. This includes providing quick resolutions to app issues, driving stability and improvements to help the business to succeed
• Monitor trades and booking issues – advise traders, portfolio managers and desk assistants
• SOD checks, continuous monitoring and regional handover
• Develop and maintain technical documentation
• User administration and training
• Understand and assess impact of issues and escalate to management in a timely manner.
• Assist Development teams in testing bug fixes and enhancements to current systems
• Record and take ownership of issues using internal ticketing system and following through to successful resolution
• Ensure that all procedures and policies are up to date in the knowledge base and are available for use by all members of the team
• Implementing change control for the production estate.

You will have experience in most of the following:

• 3-5 years’ experience in providing business and technical support for a buy side institution.
• Charles River is preferable but experience of supporting similar OMSs will be considered. EMSs (such as Portware, Fidessa, Trading Screen, are also desirable).
• In depth experience working with the Front Office – execution traders and portfolio managers
• Good understanding of FICC trading flows, equities is desirable
• Good knowledge of FIX protocols.
• Familiarity with trading venues such as Bloomberg, Tradeweb or FX Connect
• Understanding of Windows Operating Systems and SQL Server
• Ability to work alone and possess a proactive and flexible mindset
• Experience writing complex SQL queries
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.

  • CRM Co-ordinator

    My client is in the media and broadcasting industry is seeking a CRM Co-ordinator.   • Scrum Master
    £80000 - £90000 per annum

    My leading investment banking client are looking to bring on an experienced Scrum Master with a background in software development.

    Candidates should have:

    • Extensive experience as a Scrum Master in a variety of different organisations/cultures.
    • Experience in a Software Product / IT Development sphere is essential (Financial preferred),
    • Expertise in Agile methodologies and frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, XP, SAFe)
    • Expertise in servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, transparency
    • Expertise in the use of JIRA/Confluence
    • Expertise around backlog tracking, burndown metrics, velocity, Epics/Features/Stories
    • Expert knowledge of the software development processes and understanding of Team needs within it
    • Experience of building out a Technical Agile environment (e.g. JIRA, Confluence, Jenkins/TeamCity, Git/BitBucket, SonarQube)
    • Experience of the IBMi platform, RPG/SQL, Java is a bonus – people from a technical background are preferred

    • Professional certifications like CSM, PSM, CSPO, CSP, SA, SPC or equivalent are a bonus

  • VMware / Python Developer
    £600 - £650 per day + PAYE

    VMWare / Python Developer - Automation - ESXI - BitBucket - Cloud - Bournemouth (office 2-3 days, rest WFH)

The team focus on delivering modern, distributed Infrastructure-as-a-Service (Iaas) capabilities to support the needs of business applications. Responsible for automating and delivering the platforms in support of the services, that revolve around VMware technologies. The focus is to achieve a comprehensive end-to-end delivery of components that are fully compliant and production ready.

    Skills and experience required:

    • Extensive VMware infrastructure development experience (ideally 10+years), particularly on deploying ESXi 6.5, 7.0 and products vROps, VRO, VCSA, and other virtual appliances.
    • Python development experience, particularly on automating infrastructure deployments
    • Good knowledge of deploying products using ansible and bitbucket.
    • Experience of working at an enterprise level and scale
    • Working knowledge of private cloud technologies would be beneficial.
