About the team

This role sits in the newly formed Data team which is responsible for designing, building and implementing scalable, supportable on-prem and in cloud data pipelines for trading analytics. The team has a unique role in seeking out new and exciting solutions to problems, whilst balancing this against the need to provide a reliable, well monitored, documented and supported data infrastructure that is critical to trade analytics and decision making. The team is growing to allow us to better focus on the future of trading analytics and so this is an excellent opportunity to shape the technical and strategic direction of the company’s data estate.

This is a new role inside the Data team that will see a Go expert, help the team to write better, more performant, more maintainable code that delivers data to the traders and key decision makers. You will be the expert in the team, providing guidance and support to other team members though code reviews and ad-hoc advice. You will be a key voice in the architecture and design decisions in the data pipelines. You will also get to deliver the solutions, which must be scalable, high performance, low resource and supportable. This role needs a problem solver, a great coder and a team member able to help others to deliver the companies goals.

Requirements

• Minimum 2.1 (or equivalent) undergraduate degree in Computer Science / STEM related subject.

• A rich understanding of Golang

• A track record in delivering robust, high performance products in Go

• A love of problem solving and being challenged to find solutions.
