Our client is looking for a Data Warehouse Developer to develop and maintain existing data warehouse by writing new/ amending SQL stored procedures and data warehouse metadata. It will also be your job to write up as hoc SQL scripts to deal with MI queries as well as provide support to management with regular updates as to progress.

You'll obviously have a strong understanding/experience of SQL coding, Data Warehousing, Analytical skills, Microsoft Office applications. Exposure to front end reporting systems (COGNOS) and preferably have the ability to work under pressure and produce accurate output and have keen attitude to learn and develop key skills.

    An exciting opportunity has arisen fora Market Data Systems Engineer to join a financial services client in London. This role is responsible for Design, Installation, Configuration, Administration, Maintenance and support of Market Data Distribution System and migration of the real-time price feeds to the new system.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Design, installation and configuration of external TREP

They’ve been running a large programme of Development to build a new platform that has served the business well to-date but are now looking to develop and even more advanced portfolio of applications and platform using more modern technology as the business has advanced and the existing platform whilst current serving a purpose won’t let them evolve as effectively for the future.

The role is to work as a lead authority within the Development team & mentor (currently 10 staff but growing) but not as a Developer, so would suit someone who wants to become more hands off, the role will be as a Development Manager/Lead/Solutions Lead/Product Owner bridging the gap between the business and Development team, driving effective delivery of the Development team and guiding projects through to completion/delivery.

So they’re seeking someone who has a solid understanding of existing .Net/MS Tech Development processes and principals (ideally code) as well as new technology products so you’re online with what the Development team are doing, but won’t be working at the coal face of Development, leading the team, engaging the business and helping with new tech and solutions design and architecture.

This is therefore an excellent opportunity for someone who’s keen to move out of hands on Dev and be more Design, delivery and business focused as a lead.

As the business has the opportunity to develop a brand new technology stack they’re now also open to utilising new Development techs, tools and products that could add value in terms of flexibility/scalability rather than being rigidly stuck to their traditional MS/.Net Tech stack so this presents an excellent opportunity for Developers who are keen to use new tech tooling, a fully diverse tech stack, opensource tech stack or cross train/learn new techs whilst not losing existing technology skills too, as obviously is MS/.Net will still be used in some areas so an understanding of a diverse range of Dev techs would be useful.

Experience wise we’re looking for the following:

• Prior experience leading Development Teams or mentoring development teams as a Dev Manager, Senior Dev or Dev/Tech Lead.
• Understanding of Agile/SCRUM practices (which are followed but not to the letter of the law, given their home working allowances)
• Ideally understanding/experience of solutions architecture/design principals/processes in a Development environment
• Service delivery management experience with solid business engagement skills

• Prior experience as a Developer ideally or at least knowledge of/experience of/experience working with/leading developers working with the following technologies:
