Group Financial Reporting Manager

A senior position within a Fintech organization, based in Surrey. Sitting within the Group Finance Function, the role will provide oversight for a broad range of deliverables including Management, Statutory & Regulatory Reporting.

Due to ongoing project work revolving around process improvement and system integration, the incumbent will frequently have the chance to work outside of their remit

Requirements

  • Chartered Accountant – ideally from the big 4
  • Excellent knowledge of IFRS and relevant applications
  • Good knowledge of SAP
  • Managerial experience (of a small team)
  • Good organisation ability to drive team to meet reporting deadlines
  • Financial Services / Technology experience preferred

Duties

  • Run the monthly close for the EMEA region. Supported by 2 PQ Management Accountant, but with expectation to get involved in hands on processes (recs, journal postings etc.)
  • Ensure production of management accounts in a consolidated form, followed by in depth analytical commentary
  • Working on Group accounting policy to make sure they are up to date in good order
  • Work towards the delivery & maintenance of a strong controls network within finance. Liaising where needed with other support function to achieve this goal
  • Enunciating the potential impact of accounting standards changes on the group and positioning the team & group correctly to face these changes. IFRS 16 will be a large piece of work in the coming months.
  • Coordination of audit activities cooperation with relevant teams

    A government agency based in Brussels, Belgium is currently looking for a number of IT Project Manager on a contract basis. You will be working on a multi year digital programme that will involve you performing Business Process Reengineering activities to contribute to the optimisation of processes.

    Therefore it is essential that all applicants have IT Project Management and Business Process Reengineering experience. The client is also looking for someone with stron education credentials, with a Masters degree being the minimum requirement.

    On a day to day basis, you will be involved in -

    • Present proposals for project approach, scheduling, mission description as well as the project's finalisation, risk analysis and reporting, ensure the monitoring and organisation

Finance Business Partner

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITY

As part of the Financial Planning and Analysis Finance team, this role will consist of Finance business partnering with the Functions – HR, Risk & Compliance, Finance, Audit, Legal to provide best in class Finance support to the Director of each Function and their teams

APPLICATION OF KNOWLEDGE, PROBLEM SOLVING & INNOVATION

  • Providing analytical support to new business initiatives. Assessing and contributing to business cases for tactical and strategic investments in any Function and monitoring progress and benefits realisation.
  • Providing analytical support for new (or renewed) contracts with major suppliers of any Function
  • Ensuring all budgets and plans for each Function are produced in a timely manner and to quality required for submission to executive committees and the Board of directors.
  • Managing the production of the monthly financial MI (including insightful, actionable commentary) for each Function by working day 3 of each month.
  • Managing a view of financial risks and opportunities within each Function’s cost base on an ongoing basis.

  • Documentation of key Finance processes including identification of key controls

Knowledge and experience requirements

Essential:

  • Excel at Macro level desirable.
