Information Security Consultant – Bournemouth – Permanent

A senior role within the information security team, responsible for ensuring that information assets are adequately protected and that appropriate controls are in place to manage identified risks.

Responsibilities

· Provide professional advice to business areas on Information Security best practice and internal policies and standards

· Assist in the development, maintenance and improvement of the Information Security Management System (ISMS)

· Undertake compliance audits in line with ISO27001, PCIDSS and Internal Audit requirements

· Risk assessments; identify and assess information security risks and define appropriate mitigating controls

· Develop the configuration of technical Security tools; Lead on / contribute to Information Security initiatives/projects, including TPAM, RBAC, MSS…

· Manage external regulatory compliance and certification efforts as required

· Facilitate penetration tests where required and manage remediation of findings

· Engagement with project managers to ensure risks are identified and are being addressed through the SDLC; tracking of project and development activities to ensure Information Security risks are identified and are being addressed through the project process/SDLC

· Define, implement and maintain information security policies, standards, procedures and processes

· Undertake security due diligence on third party suppliers including site visits as required

· Development of information security training and awareness activities

· Be a key contact for, and lead on the management of information security incidents/cyber incidents; lead on developing processes/playbooks

Requirements

· Excellent understanding of Information Security principles and frameworks, data protection and regulatory compliance (ISO27001, GDPR, FCA, PRA, ICO, PCI DSS, Cyber Essentials)

· Demonstrated ability to identify and implement Information Security and process improvements

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to articulate technical knowledge to non-technical audience

· Experience of working with projects throughout the SDLC

· Experience of developing and implementing information security policies and procedures in line with frameworks

· Proven experience of influencing stakeholders at all levels

· Strong level of technical knowledge e.g. Cloud Technology, Identity and Access etc

· Experience of implementing/managing information security monitoring tools (e.g. Mail Marshal / Websense / McAfee / Splunk / PAM / DLP
