Infrastructure Domain Architect, Stakeholder Management, Cloud, IaaS, PaaS, Modern Workplace, 2 days onsite, outside IR35

A leading provider of retail services is seeking a proven Infrastructure Domain Architect to help drive forward this business into the Cloud.

The role:

The role will work with business leaders, internal teams, and 3rd party partners to build solutions and products as well as iteratively improve the overall infrastructure environment. The role will be critical to maintaining momentum in Technology Lifecycle Management, playing a pivotal role in forming the programmes objectives and developing the three-year planning.

Skills required:

  • Extensive experience as technical architect delivering solutions to a range of stakeholders
  • A proven ability to establish standards for secure and robust infrastructure provision and management and driving the demand for alignment
  • Technology breadth covering all aspects of Infrastructure and security including workplace systems, server infrastructure, virtualisation, public cloud, networking, firewalling, zero trust principles, prevention and detection controls, software defined technologies, configuration management, passive infrastructure etc
  • Advanced experience across complex and diverse technologies that include:
    • Microsoft Azure; IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS
    • Microsoft 365
    • Cisco switching and routing
    • VMware virtualisation
    • Operating Systems inc. Windows Server and desktop, Linux etc
    • Authentication technologies (Azure AD, AD)
    • Data Centre
    • Physical security technologies (CCTV, building access control etc)
    • Wi-Fi and associated technologies
    • Unified comms (Teams, Zoom etc)
    • IoT
    • Backup and DR technologies inc. Arcserve, Azure backup, Ownbackup, Commvault
    • Mobile networking
  • Good understanding of the EA frameworks (e.g. TOGAF, Zachman), having applied one or more of these frameworks in practice
  • Good understanding of security frameworks and accepted standards for secure infrastructure (e.g. NIST 800-53, CIS etc) along with a solid awareness of privacy related matters arising from GDPR and similar regulation
  • Demonstrable track record ensuring alignment between business and IT in solution design through comprehensive, unambiguous content and engagement
  • Ability to work at all levels and explore / deliver technical solutions to operational problems
  • Ability to articulate complex, technical solutions to a wide variety of business audiences

This position falls outside IR35 and you will be required to be onsite 2 days per week on the Oxfordshire area.

    A Global Financial Services provider working at the heart of the world’s financial, energy and commodities markets covering FX, Rates, Credit, Equities and Energy & Commodities are looking for a Senior Platform Services Analyst to join their team in London.
    Clients include banks, insurance companies, pension and hedge funds, asset managers, energy producers and refiners, as well as risk and compliance managers and charities.


    Responsibilities:

    • Working within a shift rota to provide support coverage from 7am – 6pm
    • Contribute towards ‘follow the sun’ support model, working closely with global teams in APAC and US to ensure pre-market health checks are performed for each region
    • Perform regional start of day health checks to ensure all members are connected to the platform
    • Utilising proprietary tools, provide daily application support and troubleshooting for platform members and internal users, escalating to Development teams appropriately
    • Daily interaction with all internal stakeholders with regards to support issues
    • Efficiently create and track issues within an incident-management system to help identify trends and patterns
    • Create and monitor internal reports and usage queries
    • Assist with product testing and project work


    Skills:

    • At least 3 years hands-on support experience within a financial institution (buy-side, sell-side, venue/platform provider)
    • Proven experience of MSSQL, Oracle and Sybase database environments, including complex query-writing
    • Solid application support experience within a Unix / Linux environment
    • Good working knowledge of the FIX protocol
    • Proven experience of supporting Windows Server environments
    • Experience in troubleshooting network problems: i.e. firewall and routing problems
    • Good understanding of international Equity market mechanics and flows


    Desirable:

    • Exposure to supporting message-based architecture

    Responsibilities:

    • Utilising proprietary tools, provide daily application support and troubleshooting for platform members and internal trade desks, escalating to development teams appropriately
    • Fulfilling client customisation requests within algorithmic trading systems and MTF platform
    • Troubleshooting and analysis of order routing and trade flow and post-trade issues
    • Managing team chats, queues, and mailboxes to ensure requests are being actioned in a timely manner with appropriate prioritization
    • Ensuring incident and problem management procedures are followed and performing analysis to determine trends and patterns
    • Assist with product testing and project work
    • Working within a shift rota to provide support coverage from 7am – 6pm
