Wintel Infrastructure Engineer - VMware - HPE & Dell - Powershell/Python - Cloud - London
12-month FTC, up to £80,000 base ** Hybrid working
Global financial services client is looking for an Infrastructure Engineer to join their team on a 12-month Fixed Term Contract. The primary focus of the team is on the Windows server estate, VMWare virtualisation platform and Cloud platforms. The team cover the support, engineering and design element of the infrastructure. Experience working within fast-paced environments is essential.
Skills and experience required:
- Demonstrable understanding of how an enterprise infrastructure functions
- Deep understanding of Virtualisation technologies (VMWare, vSphere 6+ or Hyper-V)
- Microsoft core infrastructure technologies: Windows Server 2019/2022, Active Directory, and supporting services (DNS, Certificate Authoritym SPN, AzureAD etc)
- Administration of HPE & Dell server estate
- Understanding of how source control and continuous deployments workflows work.
- Strong background in scripting in Powershell/Python
- Strong understanding of Desired State Configuration
- Understanding of cloud technologies
- Experience within the financial services sector
Desirable Experience (any exposure to the following technologies)
- SRM
- vCenter
- Grafana
- Ansible, Terraform, Bicep
- Octopus Deploy, Team City, Jenkins, AzureDevops, Github Actions
- Microsoft Azure/Amazon AWS
