JOB TITLE: Infrastructure Production – Server Compute – Systems Analyst
DIVISION: Operations & Technology
DEPARTMENT: Infrastructure, Security Technologies and Facilities Management

Purpose of the Position:

A technical role based in the Edinburgh office, reporting to the Infrastructure Production Server Compute Manager. You have the ability to remain technically hands-on, be passionate about IT and will be looking to adopt the best technologies to support efficiencies around repeatable, commoditised activities whilst understanding how the team address technical debt and enhance the newly formed functions globally.

Job Duties

  • Provide out of hours support and being point of escalations
  • Work with other areas of IT to ensure consistent and professional services to the rest of the business
  • Implementing and managing continuous delivery systems and methodologies for hybrid Technologies
  • Understanding, implementing, and automating security controls, governance processes, and compliance validation
  • Deploying monitoring, metrics, and logging systems
  • Implementing systems that are highly available, scalable, and self-healing
  • Manage and maintain tools to automate operational processes

Qualifications Required:

  • Proven technical experience in delivering and supporting enterprise class computing services
  • Experience in implementing common/standardised computing platforms
  • Experience in delivering, managing and supporting cloud computing platforms
  • Significant experience working in enterprise-class environments
  • Strong knowledge of capacity planning and management
  • Understanding of server performance management
  • Understanding of security in relation to server, applications, data and databases
  • Strong experience of coordinating service solutions with business stakeholders
  • Experience working within ITIL aligned organization(s)
  • Experience working with remote teams
  • Experience delivering projects and solutions

Technical Skills:

  • Technically proficient with the ability to provide 3rd line technical support across technologies such as - Windows Server 2008/2012, Microsoft Azure, Active Directory, Group Policy, VMWare vSphere, Nutanix Acropolis and Prism.
  • Technically proficient with Hardware specifically Cisco UCS Blades, HP Blades and ProLiant servers, Nutanix Infrastructure.
  • Ideally ITIL v3 foundation certified
  • Strong verbal/written communication skills
  • OS layer particularly Windows Server

Personal Skills Required:

You’ll be an experienced technical analyst; organised and self-motivated focusing on the value creation and delivery. Working within an agile environment, you’ll be naturally open and keen to share knowledge across teams whilst contributing to technical discussions. As such your communication skills will be excellent and your attitude will be “can do”.

Conditions of Work:
The normal working week consists of a total of 40 hours; Monday to Friday, exclusive of 1 hour for lunch and such hours as required ensuring the support of the business.
Working on weekends and after normal business hours is required on occasion.

  • Regulatory Compliance Officer
    £45000 - £55000 per annum + Benefits


    • Provide assistance in developing and implementing a risk-based compliance monitoring programme, identifying, assessing, monitoring and reporting all material compliance risks.
    • Key responsibility for day to day monitoring and reporting of compliance risks.
    • maintaining and monitoring compliance with key compliance policies, this includes maintaining relevant restricted investment registers, conflicts and gifts and hospitality registrars.

    Risk Assessment

    • Drive the compliance risk assessment process ensuring that the compliance risks are appropriately identified and assessed.


    • Assist the Compliance Department and Front Line to ensure that appropriate AML due diligence checks are carried out.
    • Assist the Compliance Department in keeping internal processes and procedures up to date as required due to regulatory changes.


    • Prepare standard and ad-hoc information and data reports for internal and external reports as required.
    • Prepare and manage appropriate timely management information on compliance and regulatory issues including suggested mitigating actions.
    • Provide input into the Annual Compliance Plan
    • Assist with preparing and coordinating ad-hoc reports on compliance developments as required.
