IT Management Accountant (Banking)

£300 - £350 per day


This position sits within the IT Finance Team of a major bank and provides Management Accounting support to the clients Global Markets Ops, and reports into the Head of Performance Management for the area. The position will suit an experienced Management Accountant with strong financial analysis / business partnering skills. A background in IT Finance is highly preferred.

  • Accurately obtaining all monthly information for production of expenses monthly (expense accurals / prepayments)
  • Play a key role in budgeting & forecasting process
  • Ensure correct budgeting information is recorded, and that agreed changes to system are made promptly
  • Prepare consolidated management information pack on a monthly basis, including variance analysis
  • Prepare consolidated reporting pack for HO
  • Run monthly process to prepare the High Level Comments report for input
  • Hold monthly meeting with COO/N-1s to brief them on the overall financial performance
  • During the annual budget and forecast process, prepare consolidated management information pack for each version and organise meetings with the COO
  • Liaise with the project office, HR and with the Global PM Reporting team to ensure consistency of all reported costs, headcount analysis and commentaries
  • Provide the Global PM team with actual, budget and forecast commentaries for the departments under direct responsibility
  • Prepare complete cost reviews for monthly reporting- salary and invoice
  • Assist SPOCs and related internal clients with their queries in a timely fashion



Requirements

  • Qualified Accountant (CIMA / ACCA / ACA or equivalent) or qualified by experience with experience in IT Finance preferable
  • Strong ability to interrogate, analyse and interpret data and produce variance analysis
  • Committed individual able to deliver within tight deadlines
  • Good communication skills essential (written and verbal)
  • Intermediate MS Office skills including Excel and Access is essential , macro level preferable
  • Strong ability to question and challenge the validity and accuracy of data or information received
  • Prior experience of cost accounting and preparation of management commentaries
  • Knowledge of General Ledger systems essential -Hyperion Essbase, Oracle Smartview and SAP experience desirable

Our client is a major Pension Fund based in London. This role sits within their Financial Reporting team and is responsible for the successful corporate financial reporting for the fund. Strong IFRS / SORP knowledge will be key

This role reports into the Senior Reporting Manager and will require a strong financial control professional with a relevant accounting qualification (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) who has prior experience of the Financial Services process improvement.

Key Duties:

Financial Accounting
