Key Skills

  • 10 years of experience in Java, JavaScript / CSS / MVC technologies (AngularJS, Backbone, Bootstrap).
  • 6 years of experience working with Spring/Hibernate
  • Well versed with design standards & frameworks.
  • Experience in working on multiple technologies.
  • Quick learner of new tools and technologies.
  • Technologies Required - Spring Integration, Spring Batch, Hibernate, CSS, MVC (AngularJS, Backbone), RESTful WebServices, Ajax, XML, Application Servers (Websphere/Weblogic), JSP, Struts, Spring, RDMBS – Oracle/DB2.
  • Methodologies - Agile, Waterfall, Test Driven Development.
  • Tools – Grunt, Bower, Eclipse and automated testing tools like JUnit, Jasmine, Cucumber / Gherkins
  • Excellent project management, time management, verbal and written communications skills, as the job entails simultaneously managing multiple projects with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Solid knowledge of SQL in the context of a major RDBMS such as DB2, UDB, Oracle.
  • Experienced with XML (including schemas)
  • Proactive attitude, ability to run projects with minimal direction given the geographically distributed nature of the team
  • BS/BA degree or equivalent combination of education/experience



Desirable skills:

  • Knowledge of Custody business
  • Familiarity with Spring Integration Framework or other ETL tools
  • Familiar with major banking protocols, such as SWIFT 15022, 20022 and FIX
  • Be familiar with the specifics of the major file transfer protocols (FTP, sFTP, NDM) as well as messaging protocols (MQ, JMS) and proven experience with using them in a large scale environment.

    Main duties and purpose of the role:

    • Be a central point of expertise and consultation on technical aspects of the regulatory reporting platform
    • Ensuring development aligns to agreed standards and is of a high quality
    • Evaluating and adopting new techniques to advance the platform

    Responsibilities:

    − Facilitate workshops with third party vendors and business users to capture and document surveillance requirements

    − Undertake detailed data analysis and provide mapping solutions to on-board new products onto the strategic real time surveillance platform, engaging internal BAs from other projects accordingly

    − Create and maintain design specification documents for trade surveillance alert models

    − Provide QA testing teams with detailed acceptance criteria for all business requirements

    Liaise with surveillance analysts to lead the troubleshooting and triaging of production issues to drive root cause identification and resolution

    − Support UAT testing to validate the business readiness of each surveillance software release

    − Document, track and escalate risks and issues to project lead as appropriate
