One of our clients who is a well-known Asset Management company, working with a range of financial products are currently hiring to join a small team working on a greenfield platform. The ideal candidate will possess clear and confident communication skills as the they will be required to liaise with the business. Once settled into the role, our client appreciates a work/life balance so will allow work from home one day a week where necessary.

Key responsibilities for Java Developer – Greenfield Position – Asset Management – 70k:

  • Deliver working and tested software, following prescribed standards and patterns.
  • Actively seek to tackle Technical Debt including the delivery of work planned as part of Technical Roadmaps.
  • Conduct code reviews with peers and be able to provide constructive feedback and suggestions.
  • Be able to work with little or no oversight and to oversee work of junior or apprentice developers.
  • Work with BAs and the Product Owner to take requirements and break them down into Epics, Stories. Design and document solutions.

Key Skills required for Java Developer – Greenfield Position – Asset Management – 70k:

  • Expert knowledge of Java 8+
  • Excellent SQL and RDBMS knowledge (ideally PostgreSQL)
  • Hands-on experience of Junit, Maven, Git & SVN and RESTful services/Json

Any of the below will be a bonus:

  • An understanding of Angular, Agile principles, Microservice patterns (Microprofile), Vaadin 8 and 10+, CI/CD (using Jenkins).
