Java Development Manager
McGregor Boyall has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Software Development Manager with experience in leading full-stack Java development teams to join a growing, multi-national private healthcare organization who is passionate about using technology to improve patient care and quality of life around the world. You will be based in their Glasgow office and work on global projects.
You will lead a geographically distributed software development team currently consisting of Java Developers, Front-End Developers and Application Support teams, working closely with the Head of IT for the business to establish strategy and priorities, allocate resources and build projects plans. You will also work as the Technical Design Authority in conjunction with the Solution Architect and own the developer toolset including version control system, code quality tools, deployment automation etc.
You will also be tasked with driving innovation through research and development initiatives, adopting new technologies and ways of working where appropriate and communicating lessons throughout the business.
Experience Required:

  • 5+ years’ experience of hands-on, full-stack Java development experience
  • 2+ years’ experience of leading a full-stack development team including resource management
  • Java 8, J2EE, Spring, Hibernate
  • Javascript, JSP, JQuery, MVC, Angular
  • SOAP & Rest services
  • SQL database design and development
  • Agile methodologies
  • Build and release management technologies
  • Salesforce experience would be beneficial
