A top-end client of mine within a leading financial software organisation specialising in Capital Markets has created multiple opportunities for talented Java developer with python experience to come on board and work on a migration project.

The team currently use a modern java technology stack and plan to migrate a large section of this to Python.

This is an opportunity to work with many different areas of the business and work on the development of core server-side functionality and optimisations.

Skills needed;

  • 3+ years of experience and excellent knowledge of Core Java
  • Good object-orientated Python experience
  • Great problem-solving ability
  • Ideally have with source code control and CI Systems (i.e. git/bit bucket/stash, Jenkins etc.
  • Comfortable working across both Windows and Unix
  • An ability to work independently and reach out to the team for support in a timely fashion
  • Great communication skills

This role is on a permanent basis, paying up to £80,000 with bonus potential, pension, private healthcare and holiday

  • Chief Transformation Officer (Middle East)

    We have been retained by a distinguished retail banking client in the UAE. They are looking for an experienced Chief Transformation Officer who will help build a road-map and execute their Digital Transformation strategy. If that excites you we would love to hear from you!

    This person will report into the CEO of the bank.

    You will be responsible for all strategy related to the banks digital transformation journey. This is a business focused position across their retail and wholesale banking divisions.

    You must have a deep understanding of banking, finance and operations processes. Proven track record of driving disruptive transformational change projects within a retail or wholesale banking environment.

    Acting as Chief Transformation Officer of the bank, you will be responsible for -

    • Acting as the key bridge between the executive vision and the prioritisation of the work of the organisation

    • Assesses financial and non-financial impact of opportunities

    • Promotes positive disruption

    • Promotes agile ways of working to accelerate transformation

    • Ensures delivery to time and budget, and achievement of targeted bottom line impact

    Essential

    • Knowledge and experience in Retail or wholesale banking products and appropriate regulations
    • Previous experience as a Chief Transformation Officer
    • Experience of devising and implementing Digital Transformation strategy

    • Experience of operating model development and delivery of largescale transformational change
    • Willingness to be based full time in the Middle East

    Seasoned Java developers with a strong computer science background required to work on a highly complex, powerful real-time system.     You will have:-

    • Strong hands on object oriented coding ability in Java (or Scala)
    • Development expertise on the back end with various database technologies
    • Any front end skills with Javascript or Angular would be a plus
    • Track record of designing high performance applications
    • Problem solving skills
    • Degree background in any of Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, Maths or Physics

    My client, a large Investment Bank in London, have an exciting permanent opportunity for an Associate Vice President (AVP) Business Analyst who will be responsible for working across multiple work-streams for a cross product margining offering for their hedge fund clients.

    The ideal candidate must have:

    • Business Analysis experience
    • Investment Banking experience
    • Experience with OTC Derivatives, Futures, Options and other traded products
    • Agile methodology experience
    • Strong SQL experience.
