My client is a global investment bank in the city. They are seeking a Java/Cloud developer to join them on a business critical project. The aim is to centralise a single cloud platform for their entire risk platform – SABRE. This will be a complete GREENFIELD PROJECT and will work with tech such as AWS and Azure, you’ll need an in-depth understanding of at least one of the two mentioned.

Key skills for the Java/Cloud Developer; AWS, Azure - Investment Banking role:

  • Core Java - low-level programming understanding
  • Cloud technology - AWS, Azure
  • A basic understanding of financial instruments would be beneficial
  • Experience working on the design and architecture of systems
  • Ability to liaise confidently with stakeholders/users across the middle and front office

  • Company Accountant

    The Role

    • The successful candidate will manage all financial operations for the UK subsidiary, and report into the Finance Manager at the Head Office in France.
    • Preparing financial statements and reporting are a large part of the accountant’s day-to-day work.


    Responsibilities

    • Post and process journal entries with Cost Center allocation to ensure all business transactions are recorded
    • Update accounts payable and perform reconciliations
    • Prepare vendor payments
    • Review of expenses submitted by employees
    • Manage payroll process and liaise with our UK payroll provider
    • Examine bank statements and reconcile them with general ledger entries
    • Prepare inter-company account reconciliation
    • Assist in the processing of balance sheets, income statements and other financial statements according to legal and company accounting and financial guidelines
    • Update financial data in Netsuite to ensure that information will be accurate and immediately available when needed
    • Prepare, reconcile and analyse monthly management accounts
    • Prepare monthly/yearly closings (accruals/prepaid expenses…)
    • Take responsibility for ensuring all documentation is in place for auditing purposes
    • Prepare cash flow forecasts
    • Manage any accounting projects if needed (process implementation)


    Requirements

    • 3-5 years commercial experience
    • Bachelor's degree, preferably finance
    • Qualified / Part Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA, or equivalent)
    • Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting practices
    • Strong accuracy skills, with impeccable attention to detail
    • Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure
    • Strong interpersonal skills and high EQ
    • Can work well autonomously and within a team
    • Critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Advanced Excel skills - vlookup, pivot tables
    • Knowledge of Netsuite (ORACLE) is an advantage for candidates

  • Application Support Analyst (Windows/ IIS)- Insurance- Contract
    £400 - £450 per day

    I am currently looking for an experienced Application Support Analyst (Windows/ IIS) to join a top insurance organisation based in London. The role will be a contract role and will be working on a new project within the business.



    Principal duties and responsibilities:

    Provide 2nd and 3rd line support for the application suite

    Troubleshooting any issues that arise and implement fixes as required

    Provide assistance to other IT support teams for issues

    Trend recurring incidents and provide suitable long term solutions

    Work closely with the Database Administrators and Storage teams in relation to incidents, capacity management & service improvements

    Technical liaison with vendors as required

    Provide on-call support on a regular basis, working in a shift pattern

    Essential skills/experience:

There is lots of exposure to the business so the candidate must be comfortable working in high pressured environments. Low level programming is a big plus as there is a lot of work with threading, latency and JVM garbage collections, however, they will consider candidates without this experience.
