My clients are building out a new cloud capability team within the organisation. They are late adopters to cloud and need an experienced Azure engineer to create the environment within which new cloud and digital projects can deliver at pace – setting technical direction, ensuring cloud related decisions are made quickly and are appropriate to technology, business and governance environment.

The role would be best suited to an engineer who comes from an Infrastructure background so has experience with servers, networks, storage and compute, who has moved into Azure cloud and has experience with modern cloud technologies such as IaC & CI/CD.

The role:

- Overall Technical / Engineering Lead for Cloud
- Accountable for the engineering that underpins agreed Cloud Strategy and direction
- Liaising with Group Technology Strategy to inform cloud strategy, architectures and roadmaps
- Understanding requirements from across Group Technology and our business and ensuring cloud patterns and associated technical decisions support those requirements
- Ensure cloud patterns can be supported effectively by operations and platform teams.
- Create and manage the roadmap and backlog for pattern development
- Deliver cloud reference architectures to project teams and strategic third parties
- Engagement early with cloud and digital development projects providing definition, ideation and engineering support.
- Perform reviews against Well Architected Frameworks for proposed architectures and designs and regular assessments of deployed architectures against frameworks.

Skills required:

- Proven experience in a senior / lead role
- 5+ years within Azure Cloud
- Able to work with multiple key stakeholders and manage competing priorities.
- Proactive strategic leadership, demonstrable skills in the design, communication and delivery of Cloud technologies and frameworks.
- Ability to engage and communicate at all levels from Technical gurus to Executive Management
- Strategic vendor / supplier management

    • Demonstrated and effective communication skills in writing and verbally.

    • Open to innovative ideas/ experiences and ability to create new ideas, approaches or insights.

    • Understands ideas and has a viewpoint on the markets and economy.

    • Evidence of being comfortable working in fast paced or pressured environments.

    UI Developer

    Duration:
    6 months initial - Likely to extend

    We are currently recruiting a contractor for a major bank for an initial 6 month contract.

    Key Technical Skills:

    • 5+ years of experience with JavaScript and HTML
    • Extensive experience of developing Web-based UIs with React
    • Experience of Python or a JVM based language desirable
    • Understanding of HTTP and REST based architectures
    • Experience working in a Financial Services, Banking environment or related is critical for this role

    Nice to have:

    • Basic knowledge of relational databases and SQL
    • Any experience with tools such as TeamCity, Kubernetes, OpenShift and Amazon Web Services would be beneficial.
