Seeking a Learning & Development specialist for a Senior Manager role within a financial services institution that will be responsible for the learning for a newly created learning academy for the Investment Management function within a financial services institution. The role will be responsible for holistic technical learning requirements for investors and will look how they can lift capability through blended learning and development interventions. This will include a blend of digital on-line learning resources as well as classroom based programmes.

Critical responsibilities include

  • Partnering with the Investment Management business leaders and HR Business Partners to diagnose, analyse and address existing and emerging capability requirements
  • Continuous development and enhancement of Academy learning model; including enhancing the digital infrastructure, entry points, learning resources and experiences, assessment and measurement methodologies.
  • Partnership with both internal subject matter experts and external suppliers to deliver high quality learning experiences and resources
  • Governance of the Academy curriculum and assessment processes alongside the Academy faculty
  • Identifying and implementing industry and learning best practices in further development of the Academy model

Core skills

  • Strong learning and development specialist with experience in creating and maintaining learning curriculums and assessments for technical learning requirements for a specialist audience eg Investors
  • Strong diagnostic assessment and embedding of holistic learning solutions through a range of mediums and platforms in a global environment
  • Strong familiarity with learning technologies and digital learning tools
  • Experience of partnering with external learning providers
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication
  • Strong subject matter expertise in best practice learning for technical subject matters

    • Proven SQL Skills including stored procedures, transactions, user defined functions, DB security management and design, SQL Server Reporting Services and advanced, cross server queries.

    • The ability to turn your hand to anything, manage your own workload and deliver - often to short deadlines.

    • Knowledge of the financial markets, broking and MIFID II, while not essential would be nice to have.

    • Demonstrated and effective communication skills in writing and verbally.

    • Open to innovative ideas/ experiences and ability to create new ideas, approaches or insights.

    • Understands ideas and has a viewpoint on the markets and economy.

    • Evidence of being comfortable working in fast paced or pressured environments.

  • UI Developer - React
    £750 - £775 per day + Hybrid working

    UI Developer

    Job Type: Contract - Inside
    Day Rate:
    £750-£775p.d
    Start Date:
    Flexible - ASAP - Feb 23
    Duration:
    6 months initial - Likely to extend

    We are currently recruiting a contractor for a major bank for an initial 6 month contract.

    Key Technical Skills:

    • 5+ years of experience with JavaScript and HTML
    • Extensive experience of developing Web-based UIs with React
    • Experience of Python or a JVM based language desirable
    • Understanding of HTTP and REST based architectures
    • Experience working in a Financial Services, Banking environment or related is critical for this role

    Nice to have:

    • Basic knowledge of relational databases and SQL
    • Any experience with tools such as TeamCity, Kubernetes, OpenShift and Amazon Web Services would be beneficial.
    • Open and collaborative communication
    • Experience and aptitude of Agile and DevOps approaches – e.g. continuous integration, test automation, frequent releases, containerisation

    • Ability and willingness to take personal responsibility for timeliness and quality of delivery
    • Strong collaborative communication with business users and other technology teams
