Legal Counsel IP, Technology and Procurement – Procurement Legal Counsel


Our client is in search of a Legal Counsel within their IP, Technology and Procurement team. The institution is a highly-established organisation with their Headquarters based in London.

This role will be responsible for supporting the bank with various issues involving intellectual property, technology, data protection and reviewing and implementing the outsourcing and offshoring in support of the global Procurement Function. The role will focus on providing specialist advices on outsourcing, data transfers, banking secrecy issues, regulatory issues and some intellectual property and technology issues.

Accountability

  • Providing advice for all intra-group outsourcing that includes data protection, banking secrecy and confidentiality
  • Project manage any legal opinions from local counsel and collaborate with them to ensure the project is correctly understood and reviewed whilst also providing advise for the legal structure of the project.
  • Advising on Service Level Agreement for every project and develop templates, guides and policies for intra-group outsourcing.

Minimum Experience and Knowledge

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of post-qualified experience, within a private practice and in house
  • Experience of working in a major international jurisdiction, particularly within an international law firm or investment bank.
  • Experience in a Technology / IP / Procurement / Outsourcing team with solid knowledge of data transfers, outsourcing (including SYSC 8) and be familiar with banking products and in particular financial derivatives and cash products.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to deal with demanding client base and various jurisdictions within the bank.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills for meeting tight deadlines and assimilating complex legal and regulatory material with limited admin support.

  • Equities Asset Management Java Lead - Director Level - £160k
    £130000 - £160000 per annum bonus

    Equities Asset Management Java Technical Lead – Director Level – up to £160k base

    A leading Asset/Wealth Manager based in London are continuing an aggressive expansion of their Equities Trading platform. Because of this expansion they require a hands on technical lead to manage and continue the growth of the London technology trading stack. The role will involve; core java development, design and architecture, code review and general day to day management duties.

    The team work closely with Quants, Traders and other business critical stakeholders. The team itself are one of the most innovative within the organisation and operate within a hugely dynamic and rapidly changing environment.

    The successful candidate can look to receive between £130k and £160k base plus a healthy bonus.

    Requirements:

    • Extensive Core Java Systems development experience
    • Front office experience, ideally Equities product knowledge
    • Team leadership experience
    • Experience of code design/architecture and review.
    • Strong communication skills
    • Strong academic background, ideally Comp Sci

  • C Quant/Strats Developer - Equities Trading - Associate/VP
    £70000 - £120000 per annum bonus

    C Quant/Strats Developer required - Associate/VP - Equities Trading - Business Reporting - £70k-£120k

    A market leading Quant/Strats team at a tier one investment bank require an exceptional C developer, ideally with some experience of Python to join their Equities Trading team. The team themselves work on the Equities Trading quantitative models and report dsirectly into the business. The role will provide the platform for a strong technologist and mathematician, to face off to Quants and Traders and work closely with them to implement cutting edge C models/solutions.

    This team require both exceptional technological skills (C on Windows) and mathematical/problem solving abilities (PhD in Mathematics or related subject highly desirable). Also a strong understanding of Derivative products, ideally Equities required.

    The succesful candidate can look to recieve between £70,000 and £120,000 base salary, either Associate or VP level (dependant on experience)

    This will also be backed by a bonus and package funded by the trading desk themselves.
