Contract - up to £400/day

Global financial services client is looking for a Linux DevOps Engineer to build, maintain and enhance its large scale RedHat Linux-based platform. Using declarative configuration-as-code principles and extensive automation, the successful candidate will be involved in a mixture of strategic engineering and design, as well as configuring, tuning and troubleshooting of the existing one.

Skills and experience required:

  • Expert knowledge of Linux, including familiarity with C, UNIX system calls, and low-level OS and network debugging.
  • Experience using configuration management system (ie salt stack, puppet, or chef), to automate the management of a large-scale Linux deployment.
  • Ability to write robust, maintainable scripts in Python, Perl or Ruby.
  • Effective troubleshooting skills across all components of the plant (HW, OS, network, and storage).
  • Docker - Git - Jenkins - desirable
