Job Specification – Compliance Manager

  • This client manages fixed income, equity, multi-asset, liability-driven investment, property and alternative solutions on behalf of its clients.
  • Located across the globe, our clients include institutional pension funds, financial institutions, local authorities and sovereign wealth funds.

Job Duties

  • The Compliance Manager will work as part of the Compliance monitoring team and a wider Compliance team to provide high quality compliance monitoring support to the business. Regulated entities undertaking monitoring functions, management information reporting, some advisory support and carrying on ad hoc Compliance projects.



Skills Required

  • Contribute to the creation, implementation and delivery of a comprehensive risk-based Compliance Monitoring Programme (CMP). The CMP covers all FCA/PRA regulated firms within the business and aims to reflect all relevant regulatory requirements impacting these businesses.
  • Identify regulatory issues and risks while carrying out effective surveillance and monitoring reviews within the deadlines set.
  • Ensure mitigating actions assigned within the reviews are completed within the agreed timescales.
  • Maintain detailed knowledge of relevant rules and legislation to aid in the interaction with business areas as part of the CMP and within Compliance projects.
  • Produce clear and to-the-point management information for various groups, committees and team meetings.
  • Take responsibility for allocated compliance projects and represent the Compliance team in business meetings.
  • Assist in the delivery of an efficient regulatory risk framework feeding into a risk-based CMP.
  • Ensure that identified risks are recorded, analysed and taken into account in the delivery of surveillance, monitoring reviews and projects.
  • Engage with other Compliance and Risk team members and engage in cross training, exchange of information and collaboration.

  • Java FX Algo Trading Developer - Fintech - Remote - up to £140k

    Java FX Algo Trading Developer – Fintech – Remote – up to £140k

    A successful and expanding multi-national fintech require a strong Java engineer to help build out their low latency FX Algo Trading application suite. The team focus on providing the platform for their ever-growing London client base, which spans from small funds through to tier one Investment Banks, meaning that this role brings exposure to a wide range of sectors, with which brings a diverse range of challenges.

    The Java Developer will be expected to take ownership of the full software development lifecycle of the FX Algo Trading product, applying a creative mindset in the process and driving to use cutting edge technology and ideas.

    The successful Java Developer can receive between £70k and £140k base salary, plus a healthy benefits package.

    Requirements overview:

    • Strong core java development skills

  • Underwriting Manager Marine
    £117469 - £131023 per annum

    A very established insurance group is looking for an experienced Underwriting Manager to lead a highly successful Marine team. This role will be responsible for the Japanese, German & Northern, Central and Eastern Europe business.

    This role will have responsibility of managing the Marine business and the business plan moving forward.

    • Analyses current operational structure and implement enhancements
    • Cooperate with underwriters of other European branches
    • Exchange market trends and news within the Group
    • Mange the continual training of the underwriters


    Skills and Experience Specification:

    • Qualifications, preferably in insurance
    • Minimum 10 year's experience in Marine underwriting
    • Experience in a leadership role, managing teams
    • Experience in other business lines appreciated (property, casualty)
    • Experience in the Japanse market
    • Good network in the market
    • Fluent in English
