Job Duties:

Portfolio Monitoring Reporting

  • Ensuring the monitoring of all IMA/Regulatory/client guidelines for funds under individual responsibility are captured in Portfolio Monitoring systems
  • On-going maintenance and improvement of the portfolio monitoring processes with a focus on standardisation and automation
  • Timely daily review of all breaches and accurate interpretation
  • Timely escalation and resolution of portfolio breaches and fund manager warnings.
  • Timely and complete production and distribution of breach reports
  • Ensuring the Head of Portfolio Monitoring is kept informed of all progress and issues
  • Question and challenge contradictory/inappropriate guideline proposals/amendments with IB/CRM’s etc.
  • Liase with relevant business areas to agree and maintain timetables for specific desk reviews of current guidelines.
  • Forming and maintaining effective working relationships with Portfolio Monitoring team members and other Risk analysts
  • Maintaining an open and effective dialogue with Fund Managers in relation to monitoring issues, reporting and client changes.

Skills Required

  • A solid understanding of the investment process
  • Knowledge of markets and products
  • Good asset type knowledge
  • Intermediate to advance Excel knowledge
  • Good interpersonal skills - including verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong communication skills – especially in relation to fund managers and client teams
  • Determined, self-motivated and resourceful to achieve objectives
  • Ability to absorb, interpret, apply and communicate information effectively
  • Problem solving ability

  • Front Office Application Support Analyst (OMS/ EMS) - Buy Side

    I am currently looking for a Front Office Application Support Analyst (OMS/ EMS/ Buy Side) to join a top investment management organisation based in London. The role will be a permanent role and will be working on a new project within the business.

    Main responsibilities

    • Front Office application support for tier 1 business critical systems with escalation to software development, technology teams, end users or third parties as appropriate
    • Illustrating solid knowledge of Trading asset classes as interaction with Front Office
    • Setup and training users on use of Front Office systems
    • Assist Development teams in testing bug fixes and enhancements to current systems
    • Record and take ownership of issues using internal Jira system and following through to successful resolution
    • Monitor trades and booking issues – advise traders and desk assistants
    • FIX troubleshooting

    Skills/ experience required

    • Experienced Application Support Analyst
    • Strong knowledge/ experience working with any OMS/ EMS systems
    • Knowledge of FIX protocols is essential
    • Experience working with the Front Office – i.e. Traders and Portfolio managers
    • Understanding of Windows Operating Systems and Databases – Oracle & SQL Server
    • Experience writing SQL queries for Oracle and Microsoft SQL databases.
    • Experience working within a Buy Side organisation

    Salary - £60,000 - £80,000

Sanctions Compliance Officer

£50000 - £55000 per annum

We are looking for a mid-level Compliance Officer to complement a small Risk & Compliance function, based in central London.

Key Responsibilities
Sanctions/Financial Crime:

  • Analyse complex transactions to be processed for the London insurance market from an OFAC and EU/UK sanctions perspective and provide robust decisions whether transactions can proceed.
  • Review and update sanctions and financial crimes policies, procedures and process documents as applicable.
  • Review and maintain the Sanctions Risk & Controls log.
  • Provide training to staff on compliance related topics.
  • Prepare monthly compliance newsletters for circulation to staff.

Essential Skills/Qualifications:

  • At least 2/3 years experience working in the London insurance industry

  • Have experience working with sanctions screening tools and the screening review process.

Skills Required

  • Contribute to the creation, implementation and delivery of a comprehensive risk-based Compliance Monitoring Programme (CMP). The CMP covers all FCA/PRA regulated firms within the business and aims to reflect all relevant regulatory requirements impacting these businesses.
  • Identify regulatory issues and risks while carrying out effective surveillance and monitoring reviews within the deadlines set.
  • Maintain detailed knowledge of relevant rules and legislation to aid in the interaction with business areas as part of the CMP and within Compliance projects.
  • Assist in the delivery of an efficient regulatory risk framework feeding into a risk-based CMP.
