Commercial / IP / Technology / Outsourcing Lawyer - Procurement Legal Counsel

Our client is in search of a Commercial / IP / Technology / Outsourcing Lawyer to join as Legal Counsel within their Procurement Group Legal department. The institution is a highly-established organisation with their Headquarters based in London. The role is a 12-month contract, paying 600-800 a day.

This role will be responsible for supporting the bank with various issues involving intellectual property, technology, data protection, outsourcing and offshoring in support of the global Procurement Function. The role will focus on analysis of legislation, regulatory policy developments and consultant papers, and identifying any impact and consequences for the organisation.

Accountability

  • Work closely with the buyers and various procurement projects and provide advice on building contractual relationships with third party providers.
  • Work as part of a negotiation team in conjunction with Procurement to review and draft contracts and analysing risks connected.
  • Follow compliance and regulations to ensure contract templates follow legal requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Support the organisation and work with internal SMEs on outsourcing, IP, IT, data protection operational and legal complications.
  • Work closely with other teams within the Legal Department and other internal areas to support them on various projects. Also communicate with external legal counsel.
  • Provide support with the current programme which includes preparing procedures, precedents, templates, used manuals and training to lower risks and enable procurement buyers to become more self-sufficient.

Minimum Experience and Knowledge

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of post-qualified experience, within a private practice and in house
  • Experience of working in a major international jurisdiction, particularly within an international law firm or investment bank.
  • Experience in a Technology / IP / Procurement / Outsourcing team.
  • Previously worked with negotiation of contracts from customer side and has knowledge of banking and financial services
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to deal with demanding client base and various jurisdictions within the bank.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills for meeting tight deadlines and assimilating complex legal and regulatory material with limited admin support.
  • French language skills would be highly beneficial but not necessary.

    Our financial services client has established an Information Security Programme to assess and evaluate threats and to enhance their considerable capabilities, to ensure that they are always at the forefront of Information Security.

    Responsibilities:

    • Create credible plans that set out required outputs, tasks and resources to achieve the project’s objectives
    • Reporting to the Programme Manager, you will work key stakeholders and subject matter experts to deliver multiple concurrent technology projects to meet security objectives as set out in their information security roadmap
    • Work closely with business stakeholders to understand their requirements, promote the work of the project and ensure the project receives adequate support

  • Procurement & Expenses SME
    £500 - £525 per day

    My leading global investment banking organisation are looking to bring on a Procurement & Expenses SME to oversee the design of a global procurement approach for a major finance programme. This candidate is required to have hands-on experience of Fusion Configuration, this technical knowledge is required to deliver on approvals and configuration of feeder systems.

    This SME will be tasked with:

    • Providing P2P SME knowledge and input to the Programme Leadership and Senior Stakeholders
    • Ensuring Global Procurement Design alignment, understand and challenge any changes to global procurement design to ensure change is for regulatory/tax reasons only
    • Act as the Point of Contact (POC) for the Core Solution team to review Solution design (global template), Design variations, CR requests & Design Authority

    Candidates must have:

    • Extensive proven hands on experience of working with Oracle P2P modules (or other ERP systems), preferably Oracle Fusion
    • Proven experience delivering Global Procurement Transformation projects
    • Proven experience and Strong understanding of procurement processes – particularly P2P
    • Strong understanding of Accounts Payable (AP) processes or experience working with AP teams
    • Good understanding of 3rd party contracts and the management of 3rd party relationships
    • Experience working with Supplier / Vendor Relationship Management teams and other Procurement teams
    • Ability to analyse qualitative and quantitative data
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, particularly PowerPoint
    • Ability to use process mapping tools e.g. Visio
