Commercial / IP / Technology / Outsourcing Lawyer - Procurement Legal Counsel

Our client is in search of a Commercial / IP / Technology / Outsourcing Lawyer to join as Legal Counsel within their Procurement Group Legal department. The institution is a highly-established organisation with their Headquarters based in London. The role is a 12-month contract, paying 600-800 a day.

This role will be responsible for supporting the bank with various issues involving intellectual property, technology, data protection, outsourcing and offshoring in support of the global Procurement Function. The role will focus on analysis of legislation, regulatory policy developments and consultant papers, and identifying any impact and consequences for the organisation.


  • Work closely with the buyers and various procurement projects and provide advice on building contractual relationships with third party providers.
  • Work as part of a negotiation team in conjunction with Procurement to review and draft contracts and analysing risks connected.
  • Follow compliance and regulations to ensure contract templates follow legal requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Support the organisation and work with internal SMEs on outsourcing, IP, IT, data protection operational and legal complications.
  • Work closely with other teams within the Legal Department and other internal areas to support them on various projects. Also communicate with external legal counsel.
  • Provide support with the current programme which includes preparing procedures, precedents, templates, used manuals and training to lower risks and enable procurement buyers to become more self-sufficient.

Minimum Experience and Knowledge

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of post-qualified experience, within a private practice and in house
  • Experience of working in a major international jurisdiction, particularly within an international law firm or investment bank.
  • Experience in a Technology / IP / Procurement / Outsourcing team.
  • Previously worked with negotiation of contracts from customer side and has knowledge of banking and financial services
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to deal with demanding client base and various jurisdictions within the bank.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills for meeting tight deadlines and assimilating complex legal and regulatory material with limited admin support.
  • French language skills would be highly beneficial but not necessary.

    Our client, a financial services group is seeking an experienced Data Administrator to join the team based in the London.

    Major duties and responsibilities of the job

    • Analyze data collected from clients and 3rd party sources to isolate and resolve discrepancies.
    • Maintain a single data source which underpins the application and other future services.
    • Identify enhancements with a newly defined data administration process with the intention of 1) reducing potential for data discrepancies impacting clients and 2) streamlining the data administration process.
    • Work with Sales, Analytics, Product Management, On boarding, ETL, App Support, and IT Admin in accordance with the “Client Data Administration Process”.
    • Manage a minimum of two Data Administration resources responsible for supporting analysis, reconciliation, and maintenance of data.
    • Engage with clients, custodians, and third party providers as needed to resolve questions on data discrepancies.

    • Expert level knowledge of SQL (SQL-92 or variants e.g. T-SQL, PL/SQL)

Our client, a global investment management firm, is looking for a Contracting Officer to join their Onboarding Contracting team. This is a 12-month mat leave contract role offering up to £300 per day. The role is based in London.

The role will be responsible for drafting and negotiation of various investment management agreements and documentation. The work will NOT include any trading documentation (ISDAs and CSAs) or fund documentation (Fund IMAs and prospectuses).


  • Responsible for drafting, negotiating and amending investment management agreements/
  • Internal stakeholder engagement to assist with the understanding of the contracts, and ensuring their comments are acknowledged and actioned.
  • Collaboration with other teams including the OnBoarding Implementation team to assist with the intake of new clients and management of client change, and the sales team with any contractual or documentation queries.
  • Ensure that the contracting procedure is compliant to mitigate any risk to the organisation
  • Understanding when it is necessary to escalate any legal or operational risk
  • Responsible for the management and organisation of contractual documentation.
