Main purpose of the role:

Our clients EMEA Treasury function has primary responsibility for monitoring and managing the organisations liquidity risk profile and ensuring compliance with the Board approved liquidity risk appetite. Treasury covers three key functions:

  • Funding and Risk Management
  • Liquidity Planning
  • Collateral Management

The Liquidity Planning function within Treasury is responsible for:

  • Development/ maintenance of liquidity risk management policies, and ensuring alignment with senior management approved mandates e.g. the internal liquidity stress testing framework, contingency funding plans, etc
  • Working closely with subsidiaries to share best practices and seek opportunities to optimise liquidity risk
  • Management of unsecured funding allocation process including monitoring of UF utilization, analysis of significant movements / breaches of internal limits
  • Allocation of cost of funding (including LAB) back to those business activities driving the liquidity requirement
  • Evaluation of liquidity risks associated with new products and structured transactions
  • Ensuring compliance with PRA ILG guidelines and managing internal stress compliance in accordance with the firm's liquidity risk appetite

Key responsibilities:

  • Ongoing monitoring and evaluation of the Firm's liquidity risk profile, ensuring that the liquidity stress testing captures all relevant risks appropriately.
  • Monitoring, interpretation and impact analysis of both the current and future liquidity risk regulatory environment with respect to the firm's funding and liquidity needs
  • Acting as Treasury's liquidity risk expert outside the department providing insight, recommendations and challenge as necessary
  • Maintenance and continued development of desk based tools used to monitor and manage liquidity risk real time.
  • Assisting the Treasurer with the creation and maintenance of regulatory and internal policies, reports, and analyses (i.e. ILAAP, CFP. FTP as well as input to firmwide regulatory submissions e.g. Solvent windown)
  • Primary Treasury input to the new product evaluation process to ensure liquidity risks are understood, captured and priced accordingly
  • Liaison with Risk Management to ensure new and emergent liquidity risks are captured within the firm's liquidity stress testing
  • Input to liquidity planning process i.e funding plans, liaison with Global Treasury,
  • Preparation of monthly ALCO reports

Skills and experience:

  • At least 5 years experience in a role requiring expertise in the liquidity risk regulations
  • Experience in related professional areas, such as treasury, accounting, finance, risk
  • Experience in managing complex projects involving multiple stakeholders with proven track record of delivering successfully and within deadlines
  • Good product knowledge of fixed income and derivative instruments
  • Ability to present complex concepts in a succinct and efficient matter to high level management / non-subject experts
  • Team player who builds strong, open dialogue based relationships with internal, external stakeholders and colleagues

Personal requirements:

  • Degree-level education (further professional qualification a plus)
  • Excellent problem-solving capacity with ability to think outside the box
  • Self-starter able to work efficiently without need for micromanagement
  • Excellent written and verbal presentation skills
  • Strong level of numeracy and quantitative skills
  • Proficient user of MS Office software (Excel and Access essential)
