My client is a global banking firm who are looking for a Learning Manager to oversee and lead their learning agenda for their business lines in the specific areas of markets, banking, BCM, and research. The role requires that the person works closely with the Global Head of Learning, in addition to other key HR stake holders, in order to establish the learning requirements in order to define the learning strategy.

Specific Accountabilities:

  • Seeks to understand best practice and innovation in relation to Learning, including advancements in the use of technology
  • Works directly with the Global Head of Learning and Talent and other key HR stakeholders to establish the learning requirements for Global Banking and Markets
  • Manages the design of the Global Banking and Markets Academy curricula, drawing on solutions developed within the Solutions Centres, customising these where required
  • Oversees the local testing, customisation and execution of the Academy in regions, ensuring policy, standards and execution principles are adhered to
  • Drives a performance and collaboration culture through own leadership behaviour
  • Stewardship role for the global learning function, including fostering a global community and network

Experience and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will be an expert in the learning field preferably with investment banking experience. They will need to have an eye for detail, be highly organised with the ability to build relationships with both internal stake holders and managers as well as external vendors. They will also have:

  • University Degree BA or BSc in HR/Psychology/Organisational Development and/or business disciplines
  • A minimum of 5 years HR learning and development experience in a fast moving corporate environment, with exposure to different markets and diverse regulatory frameworks
  • Demonstrates extensive experience and track-record relating to learning
  • Exposure to first-rate consultancies that set the stretch benchmarks desirable
  • Fluency in English is mandatory and ability to speak local language is desirable
  • Understanding and translating Group Strategy into Learning and aligning direction for self and teams
