An exciting opportunity has arisen for a DevOps/Cloud Architect to join a prestigious financial services client in the city.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Designing and documenting the cloud target architecture and automating the delivery pipeline for DevOps environments.
  • Designing and planning the migration of on-premise business systems into the cloud
  • Designing the multi-cloud integration strategy, architecture and design.
  • Upkeep of cloud technology roadmaps.

Skills and experience required:

Significant experience in IT with recent experience in a similar role, with specific experience and knowledge of:

- Experience of automating the delivery pipeline for DevOps environments

  • Skills across Ansible, Terraform, etc
  • Experience of designing, building or working in a devops environment and the automation of software delivery.

- AWS (core tech including EC2, S3, Route 53 / DNS, EBS)

  • Experience of designing and delivering a multi-cloud architecture with integrations.
  • Detailed knowledge and experience of cloud security issues / challenges and delivery of appropriately architected solutions.
  • Demonstrable experience delivering cloud solutions from initiation through to production.

Desirable:

  • Some previous experience in software development
  • Experience working in an Agile environment
  • TOGAF

Job description

Lead the technology team in one or more specified projects within the service platform.

Migrate legacy components that are running on-premises to public cloud.

Provide technical direction for the development led testing function and automation

Containerize new applications and build/configure existing docker components.

Support CI/CD work streams during system integration across multiple components using orchestration tools.

Provide L3 support for the current live service and future enhancements during regular hours and be available on call as scheduled.

Qualifications

Experienced Application Architect

Excellent Core Java with good understanding of multithreading, database access, performance tuning and design patterns.

Experience on server-side development.

Experience in a diverse set of technologies including SQL, Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate, JPA, Junit, Mockito, Apache Spark, Storm and related technologies.

Practical experience in developing software products/solutions that are deployed on cloud (as PaaS, SaaS) using a client/server or peer-to-peer architectures is highly desirable.

Hands-on experience in working with container-based service like Docker.

Possesses knowledge of complex database concepts and ensures project teams are effectively employing appropriate database design techniques.
