Solutions Architect


Solutions Architect- E2E Architecture, Application Development, Oracle, Java 8, Streaming APIs, Cloud, AWS, Azure, Data Architecture- Permanent- Northampton

I am working with a market leading organization who are looking for a Solutions Architect to join one of their core teams as they look to engage in the next phase of technical transformation, as part of a wider initiative to overhaul a number of their key areas. As a Solutions Architect, you will be responsible for taking ownership of multiple project areas, including new platform designs to support technical integration, and business and consumer interfaces, as well working with other physical and virtual teams who make up a wider project team.


  • Educated to Bachelor's degree level in a relevant discipline including computer science, software engineering or IT, or comparable/similar qualifications
  • Extensive work experience in application development/software engineering environments
  • Previous experience working in financial services or payments processing organisations
  • Strong understanding of integrated solutions, end to end architecture and application platforms
  • Solid skills with Java, preferably Java 8, and streaming APIs
  • Good knowledge of cloud computing technologies, including AWS and/or Azure
  • Good knowledge of data architecture, using technologies such as Oracle and SQL
  • Previous work with Red Hat Enterprise Linux to support real time and batch processing activities
  • Exposure to ETL tools including Abinitio and/or Informatica is highly preferred


  • Any background skills with MI reporting tools such as Hadoop, SAS or Teradata
  • Knowledge of big data concepts and technologies


  • Provide subject matter expertise across end to end architecture programmes, integrating new products and services into the company portfolio
  • Supporting the delivery of new applications across the transactions eco-system to support the completion of settlements and payments through the terminal estate
  • Work with both technical and business requirements of the organization, translating information into documentation for the relevant stakeholders
  • Contribute to the high level and low level designs required to support the end to end architecture required to support all initiatives within the portfolio
  • Use Java and other relevant technologies to create technical solutions across data architecture, transactions reporting and payments clearing
  • Liaise with product owners and translate their requirements into technical solutions
  • Implement real time and batch processing solutions, in line with MI reporting and streaming API technology.

    McGregor Boyall is currently recruiting for a Digital Conduct Manager for a leading organisation in the heart of London. Due to a large amount of growth and success within the department this position has been made available.


    • Manages and oversees the creation of monthly digital conduct indicator reporting to governance committees
    • Maintain and/or develop a subject matter expertise in the area of digital channel and subsequent emerging risks, as well as regulatory developments
    • Develops and drives the implementation of the conduct risk framework for Digital, working with conduct leads identified for each xFT to develop, enhance and embed digital conduct controls across the end to end digital design processes, as well as customer journeys

    Key skills:

    • Strong knowledge of how digital products and services operate, gained through previous roles, through technical expertise gained through an appropriate degree level qualification, or any other external exposure.
    • Strong understanding and proven track record of the management of conduct risk, ideally within a digital context
    • Demonstrate a basic understanding of how financial technology is affecting our business, and how this will result in new and emerging risks, innovative opportunities and threats
    • Strong knowledge of Risk And Control Functions

    £100000 - £125000 per annum bonus

    Java Fixed Income E Trading Developer – Greenfield Pricing – VP up to £125k

    Role Overview:

    An experienced core java developer is required to join a rapidly expanding Fixed Income e trading team in London. The role will involve a greenfield re-architecture of their pricing platform as well as other functionality. Given the seniority of the role you will be expected to play an active role in discussions around design and architecture, as well as having the opportunity to provide technical leadership. The role will also provide extensive exposure to the front office/trading, where you will have the opportunity to work directly with the Quants on their pricing models.

    The successful candidate can look to receive between £100k and £125k, plus benefits and bonus.
