Network Operations Engineer - CCNP/CCIE - Project/BAU - Financial Services (Multiple Headcount)

Permanent - up to £55,000 + Excellent Benefits, Bonus

An oppportunity has arisen for a Network Operations Engineer to join a global financial services client in Cheshire.

The team support the global network infrastructure with a large range of technologies, including ACI, SD-WAN, Virtualisation, Cloud, Wireless + others as well as traditional routing, switching and security. This is an excellent opportunity to enhance your skillset as they will be cross training the successful candidate on various technologies. This role is a combination of BAU and project work – there are a large number of projects in the pipeline so an exciting time to be joining the team.

Skills and experience required:

  • CCNP, CCIE or equivalent
  • Experience of network support within an enterprise environment
  • Routing & bridging protocols (ie BGP, RIP, OSPF, EIGRP, STP, Etherchannel)
  • Firewall platforms and Load Balancing platforms (ie Cisco ASA, Juniper or Checkpoint, F5, etc)
  • Experience of working within a large multiple-site, multi-protocol LAN & WAN
  • Hands-on experience with the design of multi-national enterprise switched and Layer 3 LAN’s
  • Working knowledge and design of multicast enabled LAN/WANs

    We are working with a rapidly growing consultancy who are looking for several DevOps Engineers (at Consultant, Senior, Lead and Principal level) on a permanent basis.

    You will focus on the high availability of mission-critical services including Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Build and Deploy, Research and Trading; supporting globally distributed services across APAC, EMEA and AMER regions.

    It is essential that you have a strong working knowledge of AWS and Kubernetes.

    As this is a DevOps Engineer position, day to day, you will be expected to -

    • Encompass systems engineering and performance, configuration management, and day to day operations.

    • You'll seek to automate wherever possible to improve efficiency and support Infrastructure as a Service

    • You will also promote DevOps best practices such as CI/CD, automated testing, branching strategy, and environment decoupling) and manage and maintain a multi-cloud environment (AWS, Azure).

    Essential

    • DevOps Engineer background (or something similar)

    • Experience of working on AWS cloud (Amazon Web Services)

    • Kubernetes experience

    Desirable

    • Experience of working for a Consultancy firm
    • High-level scripting ability with Python and bash
    • Experience with Infrastructure automation (e.g. Chef, Puppet or Ansible)
    • Good working knowledge of networking technologies e.g. TCP/IP, Multicast, tcpdump, clocking (PTP, NTP)
    • Familiar with monitoring infrastructure (e.g. ELK, Prometheus)

    Our client, a highly regarded global financial services organisation are looking to appoint a HR Systems Lead for a global project that will focus on Talent Succession and Internal Mobility.

    Reporting into the Head of HR Design and Solution Architecture with a dotted line reporting into the Future Skills programme, this role will have overall accountabilities of:

    • Acting as the design lead for key projects or initiatives with a focus on Talent Succession Internal Mobility.
    • Owning the planning and implementation of SRT and UAT for the Future Skills programme.
    • Applying employee experience / service mindset to develop the solutions.
    • Responsible for providing expertise to, and develop relationships with HR and HR IT stakeholders to ensure new and changed solutions, are optimal, and in line to meet the business objectives.
    • Responsible for ensuring that all changes to HR process and system changes are appropriately user acceptance tested and signed-off.
    • Aligning SuccessFactors to deliver effective releases across modules and working with different data models across different systems.
    • Provide oversight and governance of HR Designs.
    • Responsible for working on a day-to-day basis with HR leads of key systems (Taleo, ServiceNow, SuccessFactors Systems).

    Experience:

    • Experience in HR with a strong understanding of the impact HR processes have upon HR Systems.
    • Have a natural curiosity to gain a deeper understanding of client needs..
    • Ability to develop strong relationships with key stakeholders.
    • Experience with SuccessFactors or similar solution.
    • Experience in dealing with the clients of HR to understand the user perspective.
