A vacancy for a Network Security Engineer has become available with an internationally renowned business, working from one of their core offices in Leeds. This is an ideal role for an experienced Network Security Engineer who is looking to continue their career in a core Network Security Engineer role, but looking to gain new skills in cyber security, penetration testing and advanced firewall configuration.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

  • Educated to Bachelor’s Degree level in a discipline such as Computer Science, Information Technology, Computers & Networks, or similar, or equivalent qualifications in relevant fields
  • At 4-5 years experience in a Network Security Engineer role, using a broad range of technologies and network security methodologies
  • Certified in CCNP Security, or other equivalent/alternative qualification
  • Certified in CCNP Routing & Switching
  • Demonstrable experience of working in critical systems environments, including high availability environments, technical change and enterprise systems management
  • Strong skills with firewall solution design using CISCO ASA, FirePower, and similar vendor products
  • Strong core networking skills including security patching, TCP/IP, LAN/WAN including MPLS, VPLS
  • Strong routing skills inclusive of EIGRP and BGP
  • Additional knowledge of penetration testing, threat detection and intrusion detection highly preferred



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Take ownership of designing and implementing core network security solutions, including firewall architecture, server configuration and management/maintenance protocols
  • Contribute to the technical advancement of the network security space to push towards Cyber Essentials certifications, and other network security industry standards
  • Champion security best practice across the business to ensure that core infrastructure designs use the best network security solutions
  • Produce documents and policies to record the standards of network security and infrastructure in the business, and act as training guides to other colleagues
  • Assist in the delivery of any technical change programmes
  • Provide subject matter expertise across a range of network security and infrastructure issues
  • Bring a solid background in threat detection and penetration testing

    • Financial services experience, ideally in an in-house role

A specialist security business is looking for a Network Security Engineer to join the team as they organically grow their firm due to demand in the market. This is an ideal role for an already experienced Network Security Engineer who has extensive hands on experience of delivering security solutions.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

  • Educated to Bachelor’s Degree level in a relevant discipline such as Information Technology, Computer Science or similar, or have equivalent professional qualifications
  • Experience in a Network Security Engineer, Cyber Security Engineer role or similar position, or coming from a 2nd/3rd Line Support Engineer or Network Analyst role with a broad knowledge of the tools listed
  • CCSA or CCSE certified
