Release Engineer

25000 per year - 32000.00 per year

Release Engineer required for a market leading FTSE 100 based in Liverpool, who have been instrumental in the development of technology across the globe. The organisation, already established, are still looking to continue to grow, and introduce, promote and encourage innovation, new ideas, fresh approaches throughout each and every individual and team.

The Release Engineer works closely with Game Development, Quality Assurance, Database Development and IT Systems to promote and maintain continuous build and integration systems. The individual will be hands on with day-to-day support of the key services actively providing build, packaging and delivery services.

The Release Engineer will be responsible for the deployment of multiple applications from various production, non-production and project development teams, working closely with developers, designers and architects. Other responsibilities include:

  • Ownership of the integration, build and release of infrastructure for various projects
  • Manage release content according to the Business's requirements
  • Translate release engineering process and procedures to host and maintain customised automated build, packaging and delivery systems.
  • Reorganise and redesign integration work-flow to automate daily tasks.
  • Providing application support to testers and consultants.
  • Develop and maintain build scripts in Perl or other scripting language consistently
  • Perform pre and post-production submission support.
  • Continuous improvement of release management tools and documentation to facilitate knowledge sharing

The ideal candidate for the Deploy & Release Engineer will possess the following:

  • Previous experience in a Deploy/Release engineering role would be ideal
  • Strong SQL skills with an understanding of code
  • Experience with both Windows and Linux administration
  • Fluency in at least one scripting language such as Perl, Python or Bash.
  • Android and IOS mobile environments a plus.
  • Good communication skills to liaise with different stakeholders involved in the release process.
  • Solid understanding of software product life cycle, continuous integration & testing concepts, and configuration management.
  • Exposure to Agile working methodologies
  • Outstanding communications and problem solving skills

  • SWIFT Application Support Analyst (UNIX)- London- Contract
    £450 - £500 per day

    I am currently looking for an experienced SWIFT Application Support Analyst (UNIX) to join a top financial organisation based in London. The role will be a contract role and will be working on a new project within the business.

    Provide 2nd line production operational shift support for IT Linux/UNIX application services, many of which are business critical. You will be required to take ownership of problems through to resolution over a wide variety of systems and technologies and provide remote and on-site support as part of the on-call support rota.

    Essential skills/experience:

    Experienced Application Support Analyst

    Must have strong experience for supporting critical production applications in an enterprise Linux environment.

    Experience of running queries against PostgreSQL and DB2 databases.

    Experience of supporting IBM MQ and data replication technologies.

    Experience of supporting Swift messaging applications.

    Experience of supporting and operating highly available, scalable and fault tolerant systems using Amazon Web Services (AWS).

    Knowledge of ITIL framework (understanding of Incident, Problem, Change)

    Our client a leading global law firm is looking for a research analyst to work closely with the marketing team. You will have experience in a research analyst role ideally from a large and / or a global organisation.

    You will produce research and increase the businesses knowledge base through monitoring competitors, clients, their sectors and markets whilst ensuring profiles are developed and maintained based on the research conducted.

    • Produce insightful reports / profiles, through analysis of variety of different sources of information
    • Provide lawyers with regular briefings on developments unearthed through the research
    • Work closely with other teams in the business to provide research input for training, events and projects
    • Be the first point of contact for everyone in the firm in order to assist with research queries, whatever the topic
    • Assess and triage requests, often delegating to others in the team either one of the network of specialists or a junior member of staff under your supervision
    • You will also have regular interaction with a variety of stakeholders including lawyers, business developments teams and other internal clients

    Experience required

    • Current/ recent experience gained in a research analyst role, being able to demonstrate critical and analytical thinking

    • Experience working in a fast-paced environment, preferably in a large and / or global organisation

They main responsibility will be to improve their Product Engineering platform. You'll be driving the quality and flow of the platform, developing Infrastructure as code, following configuration management practices etc.

The position is based in Central Manchester and the client is willing to pay a max of £500/day for a 6 months contract.
